Would Nnot Choose this Place Again

We moved in last year and from the beginning things were wrong. We were lied to about fixes that were done, the move in cleaning was below par, and the things we later found wrong were numerous. Not all rooms were repainted, carpets were not new, and we basically spent hours cleaning after move in as what they call clean and what we call clean are two different ideas. It was not filthy but we have rented for the last 8 years and this is our 4th place in 3 states and we never had to clean after move in before. They did fix everything we pointed out but mostly they jerry rig things. The kitchen and bathrooms are very outdated in the non renovated models and they charge a good bit for these apartments. I refuse to pay $50/month extra for a renovated apartment. I am basically paying them for the upgrades they did. No thanks. Our single biggest complaint is the centipedes. I can deal with the other issues but I can't deal with the centipedes. We have been plagued with them since move in. They can be small or big and nasty (biggest one was about 2 inches long). Most often we find them on our bedroom walls or on the ceiling. We have had the place sprayed at least once a month since move in. After about 4-5 weeks the stuff wears off and they reappear. According to the Orkin guy this is the main reason he is called in to spray apartments. I can understand seeing a bug here and there; after all we are in the suburbs. However, after we moved in we started seeing 2-3 everyday, that my friend is a problem. On the plus side, the area in quiet and we have no problems with noisy neighbors or barking dogs. Many of our neighbors have dogs but only very occasionally do we hear one barking. Parking is adequate. We have always been able to find spots, mostly right outside. But, since our rent will be increasing 10% we will be looking elsewhere for an apartment and one without creepy, crawly, roommates. Our electric bill averages around $130/month during winter. I feel that is normal considering it is all electric and our only utility.
