Verified Resident ā¢ 2018
Village has been gradually renovating their units as residents move out, so I moved into a newly renovated 2-br unit with a roommate. The facilities are nice and clean and new, which is what I prioritized in my search (especially because they don't let you look at the actual unit you're leasing before 2-3 days before moving in, and I didn't want to take my chances). However, I live on the 2nd floor and the carpet creaks a lot when I walk through certain areas. It's not too bad but you will notice it.
There might be a disconnect between the leasing office and management office. If you pay a higher rent because they say it's renovated and non-smoking for example, make sure to get the non-smoking part in writing somehow. We moved in and people definitely smoke here regularly... the smell can be strong.
Overall I appreciate that it's a really welcoming and inclusive complex, and they make sure residents have reasonable accommodations. You can also have pets, and there's a small dog park, playground, clubhouse/small gym, nice patches of grass and close proximity to the train station and other businesses on 132.
You might have to walk a little far to throw out trash, and you can now only put away recycling by a central bin by the clubhouse. But it makes sense because there are so many people that the trash area gets crazy. Parking can be a little annoying but we started having lot permits to help out with that. Small improvements on a regular basis!
