Safe place to live. Maintenance staff is nice and helpful. Convenient to many resources and the grounds are typically clean and well maintained. Laundry area is clean and maintained, however, a little on the expensive side.

This is my first time living in an apartment and so far the experience is generally positive. The grounds are pretty clean and most people clean up after their pets. Maintenance has been responsive. Residents tend to zoom through the complex a bit too fast with their cars. That would be my main concern.

I don&#39;t even know where to begin. First off&#44; as all of the other reviews state the maintenance staff is beyond rude! Especially the office manager&#44; Liz. We had a package stolen a few months ago and I called the leasing office to report the incident after the US Post Office confirmed the package was delivered&#44; I wanted to see if they possibly had cameras or if anything could be done. After a brief conversation I was put on hold and given to the leasing manager Liz Molin&#44; who right off the bat as rude. Once I could see the conversation was going nowhere&#44; and she told me &#34; Well I guess that&#39;s your problem isn&#39;t it&#34; I proceeded to rant about how the were raising out rent by $20 this year but they couldn&#39;t provide mailboxes big enough for packages. This pissed her off more than anything. She proceeded to SCREAM at me on the phone&#44; so much so that I could hold it away from my ear and still hear her&#44; she then demanded to know who she was talking to&#44; and once I told her she didn&#39;t need to know she was even angrier&#44; I then hung up. I am a retail manager myself&#44; and NO ONE in customer service has the right to talk to people the way she was screaming at me. Essentially that is what we are&#44; their customers. Apparently she had *69&#39;d my call or they have caller ID...Well after this nice little incident&#44; I came home from work to find a note on my door&#44; stating that their maintenance people had apparently watched me&#44; watch my dogs defecate&#44; and I did not clean it up&#44; and that it needed to be taken care of immediately. This was most definitely not the case&#44; but I went ahead and looked for any feces that may be from our dog&#44; and picked it up. A few days went on without incident&#44; and then my boyfriend wakes up to find a note on our door that in a month when our lease is up they want us to vacate!!! WHATT!!!! He has lived at this complex for 9 years&#44; and I have lived here 2 years... we were NEVER late on rent&#44; and good tenants other than this issue. So being in retail&#44; and knowing how to go above her&#44; my boyfriend went ahead and called her district manager&#44; Rebecca Roda. Well this incident was quickly resolved and they apologized for Liz&#39;s outrageous behavior. We were put on a month to month lease at our request&#44; because we knew we were moving out of state&#44; and she had to renew our lease. In the last few weeks we have called the leasing office with a few questions regarding our apartment size&#44; etc. in preperation for our move&#44; and yet again the office staff was rude every single time! Oh&#44; and the maintenance people that used to kindly wave before&#44; won&#39;t even look our direction. 
The door and windows have been replaced&#44; and they are drafty! The front door was put on crooked and there is a HUGE gap in the top&#44; bugs all the time (centipedes&#44; spiders&#44; ants&#44; etc.). Also&#44; we had to have our tiles replaced in the bathroom because they were caving in&#44; and the maintenance people tried to blame us for that! They told us it was because we didn&#39;t clean it enough!! I clean our bathroom 2 times a week! They want to blame everything on the tenants rather than there half-ass work. Also&#44; during the time that they repaired our bathroom it took them about 3 full days&#44; I understand the paint had to dry&#44; but it was a sloppy job&#44; and left us without a shower for 3 days. 
I also had a similar issue as the last review&#44; when my boyfriend and I started dating I was here often&#44; but it was never an issue&#44; and there was plenty of parking on our side. However&#44; he received a notice that I needed to be put on the lease... I wasn&#39;t even living here at the time! I was just here often&#44; as the review before said why is it their business?! It&#39;s his personal life. 
The older light in the bathroom fell down&#44; and again had to be replaced. Luckily no one was in there at the time because it was a big box light and someone could&#39;ve been hurt. Our kitchen cabinet doors are put on crooked and will not shut&#44; the grass is at least 6-7 inches long currently&#44; oh and when they do mow it&#44; it will be around 7am so they&#39;ll be sure to wake all of the ground floor people up as hey go right by your window that&#39;s not properly insulated. 
I referred someone here&#44; and she&#39;s had nothing but issues as well! Her neighbors flooded her living room and maintenance left a hole in her ceiling for weeks before they could &#34;get to it&#34;! Absolutely ridiculous&#44; needless to say she&#39;s not renewing her lease this year either. 
The best advice I could give is run FAR&#44; FAR away from here! You can find a far better place for a similar price. Maybe eventually Altman Management Company will get smart and get rid of this current office staff and maintenance team and put some new people in place. Their overall rating is 12&#37;&#44; in my mind that&#39;s unacceptable! We see people moving out left and right. Their turnover rate has to be ridiculous&#44; and if it&#39;s not&#44; it&#39;s only because people are too lazy to move. It&#39;s definitely not the first class service&#44; or great apartments.
I could go on and on and on about the horrible issues here. 

HORRIBLE!! Would not not recommend to ANYONE!!! STAY AWAY!

I have been living here for just under a year. Approaching my new year I was given the option to go month to month for $25.00 more a month&#44; or $20.00 more per month if I were to sign a new year lease. 
The apartment I rent is a &#34;remodeled&#34; apartment&#44; where they &#34;redo&#34; the kitchen&#44; bathroom and lay new carpeting. I was told this was all brand new and I was the first person to experience this &#34;new&#34; remodel. After moving in&#44; I discovered they lied. After not being able to get the burners to light on the stove&#44; I opened the top of the range. Inside I found the gas switched off&#44; no big deal&#44; turn it on. But also discovered grease and burnt food. Brand new appliances? I don&#39;t think Maytag or Whirlpool sell brand new ovens with food and grease already in the box.
That was just the beginning&#44; in the past year I&#39;ve had the tub&#44; bathroom sink&#44; and kitchen sink drains all get stopped up and&#44; of course&#44; it was my fault according to the maintenance man because I need to be more careful what I put down the drain. And it must be my hair clogging up the bathroom drains (I had only been living here for 3 months at that point and I faithfully clean the hair from the drain after every shower). 
Another incident&#44; my closet door in the hallway. I opened the door&#44; and off it came flying towards me. After calling the office about my door&#44; they arrived three weeks later&#44; yes three&#44; and still didn&#39;t finish the repair in the same day. The next day the same maintenance man returned and &#34;rigged&#34; up the door. Now I can&#39;t even close it the whole way. When I questioned his work&#44; he said it just needs worked in. When I reported it to the office&#44; they agreed with him. It has been two months&#44; the door still isn&#39;t worked in. 
Another thing is the noise. Sitting in my living room&#44; I can hear EVERYTHING my neighbors are saying upstairs in the hallway. So&#44; it obviously wasn&#39;t constructed to be noise reduced. 
The &#34;new&#34; windows and doors they put in are drafty. 
The office staff&#44; OH MY are they rude!! They were so nice and full of compliance when this complex was my prospect for a new home. And as soon as the lease was signed&#44; it was like Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde. Now&#44; every issue I have is a nussance to them&#44; even though the issue is normally them to begin with. 
I once had someone attempt to break into my apartment and I called them to notify  them this happened and to send someone to repair the screen door that had been broken by the would-be perpetrator. The next day&#44; the maintenance man came&#44; he claimed it must&#39;ve been a squirrel! I contacted the police the night of the incident&#44; he confirmed it was an attempted break in&#44; he also made the comment that sticks with me. He said&#44; &#34;...we get more calls and complaints about the maintenance staff here then any other issue in this neighborhood&#34;. So when the maintenance man said it was a squirrel&#44; I not only laughed&#44; I also understood what the police officer meant. 
To top it all off&#44; they recently had my friend&#39;s vehicle towed away. When it was found missing&#44; we walked down to the office before calling the police to see if they knew what was going on. The Manager claimed it had been parked there for days and needed moved. It was parked on the curb because all the other spaces in the lot were full and it was the only place to put her vehicle. The statement&#44; &#34;days&#34; was a blaintent lie since the night before she was at work and parked it there in the morning. Several hours later when she attempted to leave&#44; it had already been towed away. We had to go down to Yoe&#44; T&C Towing&#44; and pay $150.00 to get the vehicle back. In the conversation about the towing incident with the manager&#44; she had the audacity to tell me I have to put my friend on my lease! Because&#44; &#34;...as much as they are here&#44; they need to be on your lease...&#34; Now&#44; I could see if my friend had been here for more than 14 consecutive days&#44; as specified on my Lease&#44; but ONE MORNING!!!! ONE! AND ONLY SEVERAL HOURS!! WHAT THE HELL?? Is this Manager lady CRAZY? Am I not allowed to have visitors? And why is she so interested in my business? Last time I checked&#44; when I signed that lease I wasn&#39;t signing a forfeit of privacy...Perhaps I should get a magnifying glass and check the fine print. 
I could go on forever about all the reasons NOT to rent here&#44; in the end you&#39;ll make your own decision. 
But anyone who has lived here long enough will tell you&#44; the management is rude and unproffessional. The maintenance staff uses band-aid fixes&#44; is unknowledgable&#44; and also unproffessional. Parking is beyond scarce. The laundry room/storage area is a dingy moist basement. The washer($1.75) works but is small&#44; the dryer($1.50) is equally as small and doesn&#39;t dry thoroughly. Snow removal is a joke&#44; might as well buy your own salt and shovel. 
Definetly NOT worth the money ($700.00/Month plus ALL utilities for a one bedroom)that you pay. This kind of place is only worth about $400.00/month utilities included.

HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE!!!!

I currently live here with my Boyfriend everything was fine when we first moved in. Then a few months later stuff started to break. We have had to by a new shower head a new toilet seat and the cabinet door in the bathroom is off its hinges as well as the kitchen cabinet door does not close and lock anymore. Recently we found a crack in our bathroom ceiling fine and dandy until it started leaking whenever the person above us takes a shower. We called the Office and they told us since its not leaking majorly they will get to it sometime within the next week. I walked into the bathroom from work and my rug as well as my floor where soaked!!!! I decied to see how bad the water damage was i barley put any pressure on the horrible patch job they did before we moved in&#44; that we can now see but wasn&#39;t that noticable when we first moved in&#44; and its as soft as sand!!

HORRIBLE!

This is by far the worst place to live in York.  They seem very nice when you are planning on moving in&#44; but as soon as you sign the lease everything changes.  They don&#39;t help you&#44; and if you try to call the office at 3:30 (they close at 4) they will not answer there phones.  The snow removal here is horrible&#44; it took them a whole week to clear the snow off the sidewalks&#44; as well as the parking spots. Parking is by far the worst&#44; you have to walk hundreds of yards to get to your car since you only have one space in front of your apartment.  There are bugs everywhere in the apartments. We had an flying ants infest our apartments&#44; and they said they could not do anything about it for 4 days (who wants to sleep in an apartment with hundreds and hundreds of flying ants everywhere&#44; i attached a picture of where they were coming from and how crappy the carpent is installed). There is mold in the basement where the storage area is&#44; and the balconies look and feel as though they are going to fall off. The walls are very thin and you can hear every conversation of the neighbors. The neighbors are also very very loud.  The A/C unit is a piece of crap and causes our electric to be SKY HIGH. The heat sucks&#44; and blows out cold air!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE AT ALL...if I would have found this website and read the reviews i would NOT have lived here...I can not wait to move out in 2 months...oh an They have changed managements three times since I have moved in 10 months ago!!!!! RENT IS TOOOO HIGH

WORST PLACE TO LIVE

The community is very nice and quiet. Also very diverse and the people seem very friendly. I very strongly like this area and would recommend it to any of my friends and family. It's always nice when you can live in an area where you don't have to worry about any type of noise or other distractions.

I've loved living here. You have always taken good care of me. I'm looking forward to renewing my lease and continuing to live here. Keep up the good work. Please bring back the pool. Thanks for the wonderful living experience.

I have lived here for almost 30 years. Altman has made living here so very nice since taking over from Town and Country. It is such a nice place to live. Everyone is so courteous and professional. Please bring back the pool.

I have enjoyed my time here in York Apartments. I intend to continue our relationship for years to come. I have had the good fortune of having pleasant & quiet neighbors. I have always felt safe in all areas of the complex.

So far so good...well respected people....ms amanda& ms rose welcome us in with open arms...very clean in the area very close to shopping center quiet community with well mannered people no noise just peace&quiet

It's amazing, Place for living, Quiet safe always clean and a good neighborhood.Everything is near: school,mall, supermarket and the highway. The staff it's really helpful and good.  Great place and great neighborhood.

I've lived here nearly 30 years. It's been a great experience, especially since Altman took over. I really love the improvements to the buildings. Please bring back the pool. Keep up the good work. I know that if I ever need help with anything staff will be there.

Very good.  Great convenience.  Maintenance always prompt.  Great customer service.  I would recommend York Apartments to family.  Thank-you for having me.  I like the landscaping service as well, they are very under appreciated.

Love the apartment and wonderful property management and maintenance crew and rental is reasonable and for utilities bills is way above reasonable! I love the sliding door, where I can watch all 4 seasons from my recliner .

I've lived here more than 30 years. The apartment continues to serve my needs and I continue to enjoy living here. My apartment is now my office. This remains a great community of diverse residents who are friendly and affable.
