Apartments and Rooms for Rent: Four Reasons to Choose One or the Other

When trying to choose between apartments and rooms for rent, choosing your own apartment is the easiest way to go. While you won’t have financial help with the rent, the place will be yours. Decorate, set the rules, and live comfortably, the way you want, in your own space. There are four reasons to choose your own apartment.

Have the Space the Way You Want It

By having your own apartment, chances are if you place an item somewhere, it will be there when you come back for it. For instance, placing keys on entry way table or laying money down on the entertainment center. When you have your own space, there is no one else around to steal, or “borrow” items. This can be one of the biggest headaches that roommates have. Rest assured that by living alone, there is no need to fear that someone will get the last bottle of “Bud Light”, leave lights on that run up the electric bill or always be hogging the TV.

Having Privacy

By choosing to live alone in an apartment, you can walk around in your pajamas, talk on the phone without eavesdroppers and maintain a couple’s social life without any embarrassing feelings. Being able to express thoughts, actions and ideas without interfering with or offending a roommate is a great reason to live alone.

Social Freedom

By not having a roommate, you can have as many people over as you’d like without feeling you’re cramping another’s style. As a single renter, being able to invite any number of people, and any kind of people over, is simply between you and your landlord. It will be solely up to you how long a boyfriend/girlfriend stays, how many people come over to “hang out” and how many nights in a row a boyfriend/girlfriend might stay over. Your house, your choices.

Financial Freedom

If you are the only one who has to pay for things, you don’t have to put up with the worry of relying on another, or worrying about economic situations not being fair. No excuses, no promises of payments late, no headaches. By selecting your own apartment, there will be no drama when it comes to bills and rent every month.

There are so many advantages to having your own space. As a single tenant, there is no fear of ending up with a bad roommate, and no hassles in regards to receiving money from them.
