Don’t use a hodgepodge of pieces in your decor. Keep to a theme with a little bit of your own personality thrown in for good measure. Keep major pieces of furniture central to the decor as well. For example, in the living area, make sure furnishings and window treatments coordinate with the main piece of furniture or the couch.
