Giving your kitchen a deep clean once or twice a year can make your apartment a healthier, more attractive environment in which to live. Set aside a few hours or even the majority of a day to clean your kitchen properly.
You can’t give your kitchen a deep clean without literally removing everything first. If you don’t want to clean the insides of cabinets and drawers, you may get away with leaving utensils and pots and pans alone. If you do take the time to remove all of these items, you may be surprised to see that a lot of them need to be dusted and cleaned and that small debris has begun to clutter the insides of your cupboards. Whether or not you choose to remove kitchenware, you should go through all of the food in your fridge, freeer and cupboards. Throw out expired or wilted foods or foods with freezer burns. Put any foods that are still good that you don’t think you’ll eat within the next month or so in the donation box and present it to a local charity.
Once everything is removed, you’ll want to use your broom and hand-broom or a vacuum to remove the loose dust and debris particles throughout the kitchen for a deep clean. Don’t forget to clean even inside drawers, cupboards, and your fridge and freezer.
Use your rags dipped in your cleaning solution to rub down all of the surfaces in the kitchen for a deep clean. You can use a mop dipped in the solution to clean your floors. Just be careful not to clean marble surfaces with vinegar or strong cleaners; use a pH-neutral cleaner instead. When cleaning your sink, spread a paste made with four tablespoons water and four tablespoons baking soda. Use the scrub brush with the paste to lift stains.
