How to Spruce Up Your Balcony with Artificial Topiary Trees

Artificial topiary trees can spruce up an apartment balcony by adding a manicured, elegant touch to even the most limited of spaces. Because you won’t have to trim, water or otherwise maintain them, they’re a no-effort addition to your decor.

Step 1: Clear a Spot on Your Balcony

You should designate a sport for your artificial topiary trees on your balcony before you go out and buy them. Clear out items you don’t need to keep on your balcony and remove extra chairs you don’t use too often. Topiary trees look best in the corner of the balcony or on either side of the door leading to the balcony so that they’re not in the way.

Step 2: Measure the Ground Area

Artificial topiary trees usually come potted and it’s easiest to use the pot in which the trees came to display them. You don’t want to transfer the trees into another pot later once you discover that you don’t have enough space for the original pot. Avoid this by measuring the area of the floor that you’re setting aside for the trees.

Step 3: Remember to Pair the Trees

Topiary trees look great in sets of two of the same design, so balance one tree at one corner or one side of the door with another on the other side or in the opposite corner. Pairing two trees of different designs or colors can also make a colorful statement, but a matched pair gives the balcony a more streamlined and classic look.
