NearBuy has an app called “Apartment Search,” and claims to have the most apartment listings among all iPhone apartment apps. This is helpful when you search for apartments all over the place, or a large number of apartments at once. It’s hard to keep track of it all, which makes this feature useful. The only drawback is that the focus of the app is apartment homes. You’re not going to find many houses for rent or smaller apartment units. However, if that’s what you’re looking for, then this app is for you. The good news is, it’s free also.

Find an Apartment

“Find an Apartment,” by Alexander Mobile, makes it possible to search for apartments worldwide, and it automatically stores the searches on your iPhone. You can also bookmark listings that interest you, to review later. When you find apartments that you like, email the owners or property managers right from your iPhone using the app. This iPhone app does search top apartment websites, but you would be hard pressed to find smaller apartments listed by landlords in the local newspaper.

All of these iPhone apps are free, and it’s worth using them to supplement your overall efforts to search for apartments. Don’t depend on it exclusively though, as an apartment hunting strategy.
