Subletting, also known as subleasing, is the process in which you find someone to move into your apartment for a preset period of time and live there in your place. This could be for many reasons
To terminate your sublet early, provide your tenant with a one-month notice and state your reason for leaving. You may need to pay rent until the end of the month, plus an early termination fee, which can be up to three months’ rent. Be sure to sign an Early Termination Request form and submit it along with the fee.
Before the termination date, settle all rent and utility bills. Return the property in its original condition and ensure you’ve received necessary closure documents from relevant authorities. Finally, expect your security deposit to be refunded on time.
