Three Essential Ingredients for a Home Theater

Staff Writer · Feb 16, 2010

Three components are required when building a home theater. To build your own home theater, a lot of money needs not be spent and a lot of pieces need not be purchased. These three components ensure an efficient home theater.

Flat Screen TV

The television might be a given, but upgrading to a flat-screen high-definition television is one main component needed for the theater set. If a high-def unit is out of budget’s reach, a flat screen or a box television will be suitable as well. Any newer model of television is required for the appropriate amount of hookups needed for other components.

Surround Sound Speaker

Having the additional surround sound speakers included in the home theater creation is a must. The surround sound speakers will provide a movie theater quality to any movie watching at home. These speakers can include small speakers about the size of computer speakers, or large tower speakers. Either option chosen needs to consist of one speaker on each side of the wall. This will provide maximum balance of sound throughout the room.

DVD/Blu-Ray Player

Another obvious choice, the DVD player or Blue Ray is required for movies to be played through. Featuring an easy, color coded setup, this machine can be ready to play a disc in minutes. Lightweight and easy to maintain, these machines can provide hours of endless movie viewings in your theater setup.

Watching a movie in a personal home theater room is so much more convenient than having to go out, pay for tickets and view the backs of other customer’s heads. By having the home theater, watching a movie can be done at any time. And with the look and sounds of a real theater, it would be hard to tell the difference.
