Especially in your main room, you want a welcoming space everyone feels happy about being in. Try a couple of these suggestions and watch your space magically expand.

Reflections

A large mirror in a fabulous frame acts as a piece of art and instant room enlarger. Place it in a prominent position in the room – over the couch for example, or opposite a window if possible. The mirror will reflect the natural light and make the entire space not only appear larger but brighter.

Stick with me here for a minute – consider glass, Plexiglas or Lucite furnishings. Like with a mirror, a glass table top or clear furniture frames can almost give the impression that there is no furniture there. If you aren’t fond of the idea, one piece is enough to trick the eye.
