We moved to Charleston and Bolton's Landing from the Midwest and are new here. The apartment community we initially chose ended up being nothing like was advertised online when we toured in person so we had to choose a different community very quickly. Since day one everything we have experienced has been great here! The management & maintenance staff are newer but they have been working really hard to make this apartment community top notch. This is not easy to do in the middle of a pandemic with limited staff and having to come into reviews like have been posted and prior turnover. Misty and Marvina are incredible in the office. William and Cody in maintenance are hands down the nicest fellas ever! Everyone we have worked with has been great and they are determined to make this a real community, not just a place to live! With anything else it takes a village so if everyone in the apartment community works together this is a place our family wants to grow old in! I would just like to say that the reviews that have been left lately on here and elsewhere are very different than the one I’m going to give and the the experiences I’ve had with this property during my time here. While yes, things could have been a little more quick like with the repairs with the compactor when it would break due to incompetent residents, or better lighting on the property. But overall, I’ve enjoyed my tenure here, and things have been fixed in a relatively timely manner. Unfortunately the management has cycled out rather frequently over the years, and that’s something I wish would have been better. But throughout my entire time at the property there was a manager named Christopher that was the most friendly, insightful, and helpful with any and all of my needs. When I went to turn in my keys to move out, I was saddened to find out that he had moved on from the property. While I feel his absence will be a major loss for the community, I feel confident for current and future residents that the person to replace him will be on par with his work.

**Posting anonymously for now because they have a history of random charges when you move out** RUN. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Your maintenance issues - and you absolutely WILL have them - will never be resolved. You can contact the office daily but they will not give you a straight answer. Do a google search for reviews on RE Carroll, the managing company. It’s enlightening. I have put in 4 work orders to fix the same sink since October. My dishwasher has been broken for almost 2 months. My kitchen light has been out for 2 weeks. The compactor that sits just outside my bedroom window is broken 90% of the time, so we get to look at a massive pile of trash on a near-daily basis. They tore down the playground and didn’t replace it. The amenities are only sometimes available. The complex is dirty and there is dog poop everywhere. Cigarette and pot smoke seeps in through the walls and vents. That is just scratching the surface of the issues. Honestly, Bolton's has been one of the best communities I've ever lived in. Everyone in the community is so friendly, and the office staff is genuinely cares about you and your needs. I've met with the Assistant Property Manager Christopher for issues I've had during my tenure there, and he's always given me the most professional and friendly attention a tenant could ask for. Plus, the pricing is a legit bang for your buck, for the amount of space you get and for the location of the property. If I didn't have to move because of my job, I wouldn't be moving away anytime soon.

This is the worst apartment complex to live at. I'm so disappointed in every aspect. The staff is so rude and unprofessional. You can not trust what they say so it all must be in writing so you can prove them wrong. The information they give has nothing to do with reality. It's a dirty complex. Maintenance never shows up we have mold in our apartment and now the air conditioning does not work. There is trash everywhere . If you live here or considering renting READ YOUR CONTRACT WORD TO WORD! They made us pay for extra month , we can't wait to be out of this place I will tell all my friends and family to stay away. I wish I paid a little more a month and avoided the stress that this complex has caused my family! One of the leasing agents at this place COMPLETELY LIED to my 74 year old mother saying that she could leave her apartment (stop renting) at the end of Oct 2019 with no problem. The agent said they had a very long waiting list and renting her apartment within 2 weeks would be no problem and she had nothing to worry about. Hesitant because my mother been burned before by a previous apartment complex giving her the same story, my mother suggested that she find her own replacement (sublet) to ensure that she could leave without any worries. The agent said that was against their rules and she could not attempt to find a replacement for herself to protect against being stuck with a never-ending bill and liable for her full lease. So, my mother took this woman's word for it and packed to move, cleaned completely, left her key, etc. My mother did everything she was supposed to do. The woman (agent) who told my mother she would take care of renting her apartment within 2 weeks either quit or was fired by early Nov 2019 (just 1-2 weeks after my mom moved). We have lived here for two years and have had minimal problems. Neighbors are friendly and my son can play outside with friends without incident. The office is on their third or so management team since I moved in, and the newest team is wonderful! I am moving into this complex this week and I'm so excited! The staff has been so sweet and has answered my thousands of questions and has been extremely helpful in making sure I have everything I need. It was by far the nicest and safest feeling community I visited in my search for an apartment in Charleston, and the price was fantastic! That along with the awesome move in specials they were running really set them apart from the rest as far as value for price paid. The staff really does a wonderful job taking care of the grounds and their residents. I can't say enough nice things about them. I can't wait to move in!

My wife and I have recently moved here from NYC, and it is exactly what we were looking for! Great place to live with so much to offer! The apartments are spacious and gorgeous. And the staff went above and beyond to ensure our apartment is spotless. Big thanks to Craig for all that he has done! Thank you, Craig! The grounds are super clean, and my dog is going to love the little dog park they have! The pool is absolutely gorgeous and they even have a movie theater you can rent out with friends! Location is great, lots of shopping. Publix and Wal-Mart less than 2 miles away. Really can't beat it, at such a low rent.

I lived at Bolton's Landing for 3 years before buying a house. I loved my time there. The amenities were nice and the staff was always helpful, especially Tiffani. Because we were building we weren't sure of the exact close date and when we would be able to get in. Tiffani was wonderful at explaining our options after our lease ended and the house wasn't finished. I would and have recommended people to live at Bolton's Landing.

DON'T RENT THE APARTMENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!! We are an Italian family, which has moved here a little over two months ago. While we were in Italy we looked for an apartment online , an apartment in which to live even though we didn't know the Charleston area at all. We chose West Ashely because it seemed like a nice place to live and more importantly we chose Bolton's Landing for what it "seemed " to offer. Upon arrival, and now conscious of the real situation at hand, was inpart what made us change apartment and location. Our apartment had mold that I bought Bolton's attention to, the cabinets in the kitchen were old and the "paint" was peeling off (which I was told was just an eye sore but nothing was going to be done about it now) cockroaches everywhere, the pool which was very very dirty and often closed. It was probably closed 15 -20 days out of the two months we were there. Obviously something was off!
