As one of the first tenants to begin renting in the area, we enjoyed our experience initially. However, my mom and I started to notice that the walls and floors are paper thin and you can distinctly hear your neighbors if you are on the 1st and 2nd floor. If you’re on the 3rd floor, you definitely stand a better chance at not hearing stomping in the middle of the night. My mother and I live on the 2nd floor and the neighbors above us are very hard walkers. And they’re not doing it intentionally. So, whenever they would have company over or decide to play a little music, it truly interferes with our quality of living and during those times we would have 3 TVs running at a decent volume and could still hear them. This place was not constructed properly and complaining to office will not help anything as “walking hard” is not in violation of anyone’s lease. It literally sounds like elephants running across the floor every night above us and that wouldn’t be the case if soundproofing each unit was considered more when this place was built. More often than not, I have to have the tv on in addition to putting my headphones in my ears to try and fall asleep because if not, the stomping above us keeps me up at night. And when you’re paying $2000 a month for a 3 bedroom alone (with no roommates) it absolutely is ridiculous.
