For the most part, it has gone okay. The Building's Hallway Floor stays somewhat dirty - doesn't seem to get &quot;good&quot; sweeping or removal of skip marks, gum, etc. - which shows on the 'beige' hallways. Maintenance on Apt items is good on some items and remiss on others.

Expensive, poor management, recent crime problems are all serious issues at W7. High rents combined with a slow to respond management team is unacceptable. The parent company, Northland never responds to emails.

My overall experience at Wharf 7 has been good. The maintenance guys are always very helpful and friendly when we've needed lightbulbs changed, drains fixed etc. They honestly go above and beyond. Good dudes. I can't complain about the apartment itself. We haven't had many problems, and when we have, it's been fixed within a short amount of time. 

However, I also have a few things I wish would be addressed. First is the cost of rent. My roommate and I chose Daniel Island for its overall safety and it's a lovely area. I didn't mind paying a little extra because of this. Recently though, a number of cars (over 20 at this point) at our apartment complex have been broken into multiple times, yet our rent is more expensive and they keep adding extra costs (definitely look for those before you sign). I would say the break-ins devalue the property significantly and I don't feel as safe as I did when I first moved here. Why is rent then, increasing? I get they have a security detail now, but it obviously hasn't done anything since there were break-ins after that was instated. 

Second is our upstairs neighbors. Every downstairs neighbors complaint, I suppose. But what they do is next level. My roommate and I work from home and it is a daily (more like hourly) occurrence of them sounding like they're dragging furniture across the floor (I genuinely don't know how they rearrange so much with the compact space we have), stomping from one side of their apartment to the other, back and forth (again, not sure how the stomping isn't jarring their brains nor how they have enough room to stomp as far as they seem. We also had about a 6-month spout of lightbulbs continuously going out, and I think it's because they were stomping the lights out of place), and lastly, constant hammering. I don't know if they have picture covering their apartment wall to wall or if they're running a wood shop out of their apartment, but it genuinely seems like they're hammering or sawing things daily, throughout the day. I'm pretty sure we have a legal right to quiet enjoyment of the property (I know this, because I've worked in leasing before). I've brought this up several times and the people at the office seem to know who I'm talking about and won't do anything about it. I also know other people hear how loud they are, so it's not just us, the downstairs neighbors hearing them. 

tl;dr - overall experience good, maintenance on top of things, theft apparently brings apartment prices up, upstairs neighbors are the Bane of every downstairs neighbors existence.

Have lived in 2 apartments at W7. Up and down experience. Crime problem with many cars being broken into or stolen. Golf carts stolen. Bikes stolen. No real response from management. Inconsistent enforcement of dog policies. Thin walls. Rising rents. We will move at the end of lease.

I love living here. The complex is within easy walking/biking distance of the Rec Center and Publix. I love the salt water pool and swim regularly. The staff are extremely helpful. I have a wonderful veg and fruit garden on my porch.
