It has not been too good. I wasn't told all these fees wood be added to my rent. It is different every month. Dogs keep pooping in front of my door. I feel $30 is not necessary for every tenant garbage.

Some neighbors are loud and it took weeks for the leasing office to help fix the issue. My apartment also smells like weed EVERY DAY. It is coming through the vents, it is coming from the balconies below and absolutely nothing is done about it. Leasing office said the call the police, police tells me to call the leasing office. I filed 4 policy reports due to noise and drug usage here in this building. I live here with my 2 children and I am considering leaving sooner than my lease term is because I will not continue to live in an apartment that smells like weed all day every day, it is disgusting.

The office staff (Ashley) is fantastic. They are always very helpful and cordial. Always respond to any questions or concerns. Living at Slate is so much better than The Villas (where I resided before). The apartments are designed better and I feel like I am valued.

Although my stay here was short - due to military reasons, I enjoyed everything. The amenities were amazing! The staff (especially Brad) are also great. My only issue are the bugs? The first floor in building 1000 is atrocious. Spider, millipedes, palmetto bugs, etc. love it out there! I understand that this is the south and bugs come with the territory, especially during the warmer months? but they shouldn't be getting into the apartments at the volume in which they do. Every other day I have to vacuum/sweep near my doors (on the exterior and interior) I'm not sure if it's a weather stripping/seal issue or an extermination issue, but my overall rating of this apartment would be a 10/10 without the bugs!

I absolutely love Slate - it is definitely more of a high class sort of community. The apartments are rather luxurious in size (as is the pricing that goes along with it), but you also get access to an amazing gym, a really nice pool, free coffee every morning, and an awesome work-from-home setup near the leasing office. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place that gives off 'independent hotel' vibes.

maintenance staff is amazing, leasing department is grossly incompetent specifically chandler and Ametria Kidd. I hate living here. Management regularly threatens residents with the police if they are confronted on not doing their job.

When walking out of my apartment it's surroundings are never clean. It looked like someone threw up on the stairs and it was there for a month before they cleaned it and when they did they didn't even clean it all.

The only issue I have currently is the trash outside of everyone's doors at night. I have to walk past everyone's trash leaking everywhere and watch all the bugs jump out of them. As REQUIRED, I put my trash in a provided trash bin outside my door. Apartments are supposed to be fined 25.00 every time this policy is broken. Trash is constantly in the walking path in bags only in the hallways and we shouldn't have to walk past smelly leaky garbage.

I had high hopes when i first moved in because the property was only a year old and appeared well maintained. Sadly, have been disappointed with the lack of common area upkeep and cleanliness. Breezeways and mail areas not maintained and cleaned regularly. Pet waste disposal bins overflowing week after week. Residents not fined for leaving garbage in breezeways repeatedly every weekend and not in the provided plastic bins and leaving stains on floors and causing pest issues in the common areas. Pool has been closed at least 3 times for resident violations that affect the rest of community. Perhaps you need to invest in surveillance of the property. You have a lot of upcoming and competing properties in the area, so would assume you want to be proactive to retain your residents.
