Resident ā€¢ 2004 - 2008

If you want broken AC all the time, this is the place for you!

I have lived at these apts for almost three years. The first year here I was happy with it. Every year after, I have major problems with my air conditioner. And you need to have working air conditioning in TN summers. The first year, I told them my air conditioner just wasn't cooling. Their answer to me was that it's just really hot outside and my AC is having to work really hard to keep it cool. I just kind of accepted it and stayed pretty warm for the most part. Last year, I told them the same thing. Then I brought up the fact that I live in an upstairs one bedroom apt and pay at least $150 in electric, when I have friends here in the same complex that have two bedroom apts with much cooler apts and half the electric bill. On a Friday evening, my air conditioner started blowing out hot air. Maintenance came out and tried to fix it, but because it was the weekend, they couldn't get any new parts. Turned out I needed a whole new unit, and that wasn't replaced until the following Tuesday. I went five days in 105 degree heat with no air conditioning! Once the unit was replaced, it worked fine the rest of the summer and my electric bill went way down. Now this year, I turn my AC on again for the first time, and it is blowing out lukewarm air. Of course, it was on a weekend again. Monday they came and fixed it. I came home to a freezing apt and turned it off because I wanted to use my windows. I just wanted to know that I had a working air conditioner before it gets too hot. So yesterday, another Friday, I turn it on, and again it is lukewarm air. Maintenance comes out and tells me ants got in my unit but they've got it fixed. It worked great until I woke up at 5am this morning so hot because my AC had quit again. They need to be calling out a professional to work on it, instead of their maintenance guy. I'll be moving out of these apts at the end of summer, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I was also told that rent would never go up more than 4% each time I resigned my lease. They wait until it's too late to give your notice before telling you how much your rent is going up. Mine went up about 7%. It went from $571 to $610.
