I am a current resident at Steeplechase. Overall, the experience has not been as bad as many of the reviews posted here. I can recall one time in the fall of 2021, there was a sewage blockage somewhere in the system causing raw sewage (feces, toilet tissue) to backflow into our TUB and our toilet would not flush. We called the emergency maintenance line and they came out within an hour. They assessed the situation and left. However, the issue was fixed around 2pm by the next day thankfully. But I had a massive mess to clean up and went through multiple bottles of bleach and bathroom sanitizer, as I am a naturally very tidy person. One HUGE issue for us is parking. There are never any parking spots near our unit and I often have to carry my groceries in on a 10 minute walk. There is one motorcycle that is parked nearly right in front of our unit and has NOT MOVED IN EIGHT MONTHS!! I have sent many emails to management about the motorcycle, as the lease states any car that sits unmoved for 2 weeks will be towed. This has been 8 months... they refuse to do anything about it. In the most recent months, we have had more issues with the office staff. As the previous reviews have mentioned, there is a trash service that is mandatory and you are billed for it monthly with rent, meaning you CANNOT opt out of the service. We got a new neighbor around 2 months ago and the office manager directly told this new neighbor that he could outright TAKE our trashcan, all because it was sitting outside. We had left it outside so the trash valet service could take the trash from it... We then called the office once we noticed it missing. The manager then told us "Yeah I told him to take it! I didn't know it was yours, but here is the number to directly call the trash service to get a new bin". So we called the trash service directly. They go on to tell us that we need to contact OUR OFFICE, as they have spare bins and extras for residents who do not have one! My husband proceeded to call the office and relay that information to the office staff and was met with a woman who had a lot of attitude and said "Are you sure your neighbor took your bin? I will have to investigate that". There is a serious miscommunication issue on their part, and the issue is currently not solved. We continue to pay money every month for this trash service that we CANNOT UTILIZE.
