I specifically made it clear that I didn't want my apartment to smell like cigarette smoke. When I visited the apartment before I moved in, it didn't smell like smoke. My parents came to look at it a few days later and it didn't smell smoke. Well, when I moved in, it smelled like smoke, but I didn't think anything of it. When I complained about my apartment smelling like smoke, the people at the office KNEW that the apartment below mine smoked and that my apartment was going to smell like smoke (which it currently does). I felt very deceived by this. Yes, there is a machine that gets rid of the smoke smell, but that machine makes the apartment smell weird and only lasts for a few days. I have had a lot of small things wrong with the apartment. Granted, y'all are very good at getting things fixed asap, it still happens (air conditioner broke, car got broken into, got locked out of my apartment bc the door knob stopped working, and more). Also, when the people either next to me or below me shower, the pipes make this thunderous noise that is impossible to ignore and wakes me up. I will not be renewing my lease there because of the smoke smell and pipe noise.
