I actually did not ever get to move in to Sutter Creek apartments, but they put me in a terrible situation. My boyfriend and I were looking for apartments in the Arlington area and after viewing about seven complexes, we thought Sutter Creek would be the best. We filled out applications and paid the deposit. About a week later I called to make sure out applications went through and that we were scheduled to move in on the 31st of December. This was in early November. -------- told me yes, our applications went through and that they had us scheduled to move in on the 31st of December. On the 20th of December I called to make sure I had the right address to transfer my electricity over, and ----- told us our applications had been denied. The reason for the denial was because my boyfriend's identity had apparently been stolen and some random apartment we had never heard of said he owed them $865. I understand why we were denied even though it was identity theft, however they had told us everything was fine for us to move in and then I found out about a week before we were scheduled to move in that we can't. They said they tried to call and email us but I have no missed calls or missed emails. I just feel like they should have kept trying to contact us until we spoke in person or heard a response back from us. The reason for all of this was because Sutter Creek changed management and under their old contracts we were fine to move in. However under Gables we were not. The switch was made in between the time we had applied and the time we were suppose to move in. Now my boyfriend and I have to try to find a new place in a week so that we don't end up homeless. When we went into the office to dispute all of this, we were treated like crap. I started crying when the manager told me there was no way for us to move in, and she started laughing at me for crying. She was EXTREMELY rude. Honestly, she is the main person I am upset with. She never even gave us her name. Technically it's not --------'s fault for telling us we were accepted since we were at the time under their old company, but they never contacted us after they switched companies to tell us our applications were denied. ----- was also very nice to us and understanding and tried to help us out. We were given a copy of the credit retriever because of this situation that is partially their fault and when we came into the office she accused us of taking the document that we were not suppose to have. She obviously saw us as stupid kids and did not care to show any sympathy towards the mess her apartment complex has caused for us. I wish she had the decency to at least have told us her name so that I could include it in this report. Do not go to Sutter Creek. I was so excited to move in and am furious I was lied to. -------- wouldn't even look us in the eye when we showed up to the office to complain. Hopefully we can find a place today or else I do not know what we will do. We have creditors working to get it cleared off his record but it can take up to 30 days. Now we have 9 days till we are suppose to move out of our apartment and no place to go. Do not come to these apartments. All the reviews are bad, so I should have known from the start. I just cannot get over how rude the manager was. I have never been treated like that for something that wasn't my fault. She kept telling me it was no one's fault and she wouldn't even own up to the mistakes her apartments have made. Awful AWFUL management.
