What a joke!

There are numerous problems here, let me make a list and then explain.... 1) Safety 2) Mainainence 3) Leasing Staff 4) Roaches 5) Rats 6) Neighbors 7) Noise 8) Energy Efficiency Alright, so that's what I can think of off the top of my head. First with the safety...my wife doesn't even walk to the car alone. Suspicious people are always walking around here. The gate code is widely known by everyone and their dog. They've welded some walk-through gates shut and other drive through gates are chained shut...that doesn't protect us, it just upsets everyone. Recently a young woman (23 years old) was killed outside her apartment. The Mainainence team is friendly, but they don't speak any English and if you call you speak to their children who have to translate...if you have a problem that they don't consider an emergency they won't fix it until they feel like it, unless you pay them with a bribe. The leasing staff is constantly turning over. I've been here for just a few months now and the entire leasing/office team has changed twice. Roaches aren't too bad as long as you are sure to clean and spray poison frequently...even then, unless your neighbors are cleaning and spraying too the roaches will never be gone. Rats....now there's a story here...before I moved here with my wife my brother had moved here with his wife an child on the other side of the complex. Their dog used to chase a noise in the ceiling and we never knew what it was until one night when we turned on an outdoor light and saw 7 to 10 huge rats running around on the porch...needless to say, the rats and the murder caused my brother to move out last month... I, however, had more time on my lease and figured I could stick it out......dumb idea, this place gets worse everyday! While most the neighbors are great and friendly, some are just plain angry. My wife and I live on the third floor and we are fairly quiet people. Our television is never over level 5 sound, and we don't listen to music....nevertheless, our neighbors called the office and the police on us for noise. They even come bang on our door about once a week and tell us to be quiet... Besides rude neighbors, we have here extremely loud and dirty construction nearby. The construction starts early in the morning hours and never stops. All that construction kicks up considerable dirt and the car needs to be washed daily...that's right, daily! Finally, there is an energy efficiency problem here....none of the windows or doors have good seals. The windows let in tons of air when they are shut which makes it impossible to heat/cool the apartment, So, do I recommend this place?...not in a million years! Oh yeah, and when my brother moved out they offered him a renewal price that was rediculous, I gave my move out notice just a few days ago and the prices they gave me were totally different. They change prices and tell you different things all the time.
