If I had known about life at Sutter Creek before I moved in I would have chosen elsewhere.
If you're looking for an apartment with a fitness center- DO NOT come here. They only have the fitness center open during their business hours of operation. When asked why they said due to equipment being stolen. Big red flag. Also, what normal- hour working person can go to the gym between the hours of 10am-6pm?
Next- instead of giving you a warning about something you may have accidentally left on your patio, they slap you with a $75 fine. In addition to that they conduct "surprise" window violation surveys that aren't even listed in your lease. If you're found in violation you're charged $75? again no warning, no grace period of "you're in violation, you have x amount of days to fix the problem" and then they don't even fix the blind, they just charge you $75.
I pay my rent online and rarely read what the total is. I work in a different city and can't make it during office hours to pay in person. Well apparently they forgot to add a charge to my bill for water etc and then leave me a note saying I need to go get a money order to pay the amount they forgot and also I'm getting a $50 late fee because they forgot to do this instead of just add it to my next month bill.
There is no sense of security? the gates have been broken the entire 3 years I've been here. Tons of teenagers and kids with no parents are always taking over the pool area.
If you want HOOD living, then this is the place for you. If you'd rather spend your hard earned money somewhere else where you're valued, appreciated and treated like a human instead of a walking money bag then I'd go somewhere else.
One positive thing I will add is that I think their staff has gotten better recently than what they have had in their office over the last few years.
I've asked several times to speak with the apartment manager and have not yet once met him/her.
This place does not value their tenants or really care about what is going on.
This place is trash.
