Resident ā€¢ 2015

5/5/2015

When my husband and I took a tour of the apartments we immediately said yes. We are in a 648 sqft apartment, it is almost 200 square feet smaller than my last apartment and I was worried that we would have to get rid of a lot of things, but honestly the space is better utilized now than it was before. The A2 floor plan is nice and open and we pay base rent of just under $900, which isn't that bad considering my last apartment was the same price and the appliances were from the 80s and everything sucked. I'd rather have a smaller, nicer looking apartment than a bigger, really ugly old one. When we came into the leasing office we met with Megan, she's very nice and has always remembered who we are. We told her we were looking for an apartment with a maximum rent of $900, she showed us this apartment that was just over $900 and I was immediately disappointed, but they showed us how much it would be with all of the charges most apartments have rather than just base rent so we ACTUALLY had an idea of what we would be paying, not just what rent was. I liked that a lot. You can choose to pay the regular deposits or Sure Deposits, we chose the Sure ones and paid a lot less than I thought I would. The walls are a little thin, but honestly the first week we were hear not only did we not see many people but it was DEAD QUIET. It was so nice not to have to hear yelling! You can hear people's tvs occasionally. The apartments echo a little bit, but it's was only one night that we heard a little noise from the two apartments around us. The loudest part of living here happens when people talk in the hallways between the apartments, but that's rare. The appliances are really nice, one of the last people to live here used something abrasive on the stove top and scratched it up and it bothered me quite a bit at first but I've gotten over it because of how well they work. The A/C and how the apartments are insulated makes it stay very cool in here even when it is very hot outside. I rarely have to run it, which is nice and will save me money in the summer! They have valet trash pick up, all I have to do is put my trashcan outside of my door and they come get it, which is pretty awesome. Parking is a little tricky, but I've never had to park anywhere else but right out front of my apartment and I live right near the front. They WILL TOW YOU if you park in visitor parking, but the Megan went over this with us and told us where we can park and what we can do if we have friends over or have difficulty parking. She was very thorough with this, so if you get towed for parking somewhere they tell you not to then it's your fault. The gym is nice, I went early on a Monday and there was only one person there and he left not long after I came in, so it was nice and quiet, albeit a little warm. You can get to South Park Meadows by going down Old San Antonio road and it takes a lot less time than getting on 35 and hitting the turnarounds, plus there's a Wal-Mart, Target, and Sam's Club in there (as well as a ton of other awesome shopping and food places). I think the thing I dislike the most about living here is that my car has been hit several times by other people's car doors. I park right in the middle of my space, so I am well within the lines, but in the month that I have been here I've gotten about 10 small dings on my car doors. I don't drive an expensive car, but it's mine and I wish people would be more careful :( As long as rent doesn't get too high I think we will be here for a long time!
