I just renewed because this is a very good location for me and at a good price. Its a great starting place. I would recommend to collage students, they just put in a bus stop here witch makes it easy to get downtown. The staff is always nice to me and maintenance responds in little to no time(Same day the majority of the times for me). One thing I hope the new company does is upgrade a little bit. I would like to see a upgrade program for current residents that includes updating the old appliances for new, more efficient appliances. Maybe something with the carpet too. Also it would be nice to have gated access as that's where most are going. If I can see that they are progressing majorly towards upgrading this place that has so much potential then I will sign again and again, not only because this place is a good place but because I would want to support the growth of this booming community. Thanks for raising the rent AND adding 70 bucks in new fees that are BS! We have drug dealing dealing drugs and cars being broken into at least 1 every few months. In broad daylight!! Graffiti everywhere,trash piling up next to the trash cans. And the valet trash people ya the recycling goes right in the dumpsters!! How does having valet trash really benifit us? If people want it make them pay for it!! I can take my own trash to the dumpster,I do have to leave the apartment everyday anyway!

I`ve been a resident that past few years at Mission Tanglewood apartments. This apartment complex is in a good area and are maintanced well. My only complaint is forcing residence to pay for the Valet Waste service and the rate increases every renewal. Ya there are other apartments more expensive in the 78748 area but that`s just being greedy. You should want to hold on to your residence who have been here awhile and are no trouble.

Awesome!

I really enjoyed the whole experience of renting my apartment here. The girls in the office were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! My apartment is great and the couple of times I needed work done it was taken care of quickly and efficiently. My neighbors are very nice and I have made friends at the dog park and pool. I really enjoy living here and can take a big sigh of relief. Thanks, Mission Tanglewood!!

I came to mission tanglewood in 2010 the staff here is friendly warm and they helped me out in everyway possible to make me feel at home I like it here because its quiet and this area is very nice. all my service calls were handled promptly and proffessionly the grounds are always maintained maintained very well the front office personel aer always willing to help me with anything I need I love it here and so will you, this is a family atmosphere type of place I like it

Some of the staff is okay, apartments were average, I felt like they were trying to price me out after a couple years of loyalty. I guess you get the same treatment at most apartments. Be careful in your selection some of the reviews seem biased.

My vehicle was broken into twice. The laundry is a routine rip-off. Obnoxious neighbors were never delt with. Gangs hang-out in nearby park. Gunshots fired one night in nearby park. Don't stay here.

THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is a dump!!! Don't be fooled by the fake smiles in the office. It is by far the worst management I have ever dealt with. They don't care about their residents. The property is dirty and smells like garbage! They are not gated so people are constantly dropping off crap at the dudmpsters. They will shut your water off without notice to work on units. You may be in the shower with shampoo on your head and bam the water is off! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! I have never felt inclined to review anything online until now. That is how strongly I feel about my advice to you. The only reason I stayed for 3 years is because it was all I could afford on my own. Oh and I forgot to mention, there are lots of break ins and no security even after all of the break ins. Wouldn't you think they would invest in that but their response is that is what renter's insurance is for.

Great place to live!!

I have lived here for the last 2 years and have loved it. The staff are super helpful. Repairs are always completed promptly. And the location is great! I am currently making a move into a large apartment on the complex and it has a stress free transition. I recommend my complex to everyone I know. Seriously, if you are looking for a place on the south side, this is it!!

My Family loves living here!

I moved in here in February with my kids and we have had nothing but a positive experience. We have great neighbors and have never had an issue with noise. The property is always clean and well maintianed. Every work order I have submitted was taken care of immediatly and the maintenence guys are friendly and profesional. The office staff is always available and willing to answer questins. I am excited about the brand new fitness center and business center we are getting in Nov. I love it here and plan on renewing for another year! I pay in the 700's for 1004SqFt! Truly the best of south Austin!

Started out good, but then...

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! For the first 8 months I lived here, I was in a 1/1 and everything was great. The office staff was so helpful and the maintenance guys were very quick at fixing things. Then I convinced my friend to get a 2/2 with me, and that's when everything went downhill. From the beginning, our apartment has smelled like urine, and the office refuses to do what's necessary to get rid of the smell. They have sent someone out here a few times, but don't care to do everything they can to fix the situation...and yet they're still charging us full rent. Along with that, there are still issues that we put on the move-in form that haven't been fixed after multiple requests.

Did not like it

I personally did not enjoy living at this apartment complex. There is a lot of odd and end trash left by the dumpsters perhaps by people who drive over to get rid of their trash. This looks bad. The apartments themselves have had a few renovations but could use more. No one picks up after their dogs so the grounds is littered with dog poo. The price for Austin market is probably reasonable. Maintenence does respond quickly to any work requests. I had a leaky ceiling and although it was looked at right away, it has not been fixed after outside roof repair has come twice. There are no real amenities here although probably reflected in the lower rent for S. Austin. The pool is nice and maintained clean. Parking is open other then some $20 per month spots that are designated by yellow painted numbers. No covered parking. My neighbor upstairs was rather noisy. Could hear everything! At times I felt like I was watching TV up there myself. I am relocating out of Austin but if I had stayed I would have most likely paid a bit more in rent to get something I deemed nicer personally.

Nice Place

I've lived here going on 3 years now and have had no issues to speak of. I pay my rent on time and pay for a parking place right in front of my apartment which is hardly anything tagged on to the monthly rent. The ladies inside the office seem nice and are willing to do simple things like take your packages to your apartment when asked while your at work. I read all these negative reviews by people who obviously don't take responsibility for their own place by blaming everyone else but themselves. Pay your rent on time, be nice to others and there's never any issues.

Pay a little more for something better!

The staff very rude once they sucker you in. They are also quick on how they can charge you with fees. Maintenace is ok with small stuff, but if you look at the siding of the buildings, they are rotting out. Maybe from termites since they don't treat the logs that surround the buildings. I've had bats live in my bedroom wall for about a month and when they finally fixed it, the bats moved into the building next to me. The walls there are thin and poorly insulated so you can hear everything. You have to watch where you step in the grass because people let their dogs crap in them and the staff doesn't do anything about it. Actually, one of the staff allows her dog (terrior) to run around without a leash and doesn't pick up after it craps. Its amazing they have a lot of rules but don't follow them themselves. If you can afford to pay $75 more a month, you can find a better and newer apartment.

Don't move here!!!

I'm still living here right now and I can't wait to get out. My lease is up in December. Everything has gone wrong with the apartment. Drawers broke in the kitchen, the oven doesn't work, the sink doesn't stop up, there's a leak in my bathroom that has stained the tub, a circuit blew and I don't have power from the left side of my apartment. The list goes on and on. Also, there are hornets everywhere in the stairwell that I'm allergic too but they never take care of them. The residents below me are loud. I've called the police on them five times but it hasn't done anything. The office won't do anything either. Also, there's animal excrement all over the grass. People never clean up any of it. So, DON'T MOVE HERE

Horrible Management

When we first moved her early 2007 the pricing was great for the area that we wanted. It was right off a major intersection but far back enough to not have to deal with the traffic. Each year prices go up and you get the stupidest fines over the smallest things. Maintenance does come in and help but it does take some time. I just have a complaint about their management. They espeically the head of the apartment complex walks around with their head up so high that they dont know reality. Get over your self we dont care who you are and have some respect for tenants.
