I currently live in this complex and I would just like to warn people before they decide to rent here. I have lived here for 6 months. I picked the complex because of the great location, the nice parks in the area, and the price/space ratio. I really enjoy my immediate neighbors; they look out for me as I am a single female living alone which I appreciate!
On the positive side I do not tend to hear much noise, the tenant above me has a young son so that gets a little loud but cannot be helped. I don t hear excessive partying, loud cars etc.
My experience with maintenance has been hit or miss. My a/c went out and it took 3 tries before they were finally able to fix it, but they did try to keep me comfortable during the process with a portable a/c unit. Ive notices bugs, but they are fairly quick to get pest control out. Although I DO NOT like roaches so I bought my own stuff. To be fair Ive seen 4-6 roaches in 6 months. Im not sure if thats a low number or not.
When the new management company came on board we all braced for impact. They are friendly enough, but they dont seem that competent. Personally I just try to avoid them unless necessary. When they did all of the renovations, it really felt intrusive and while I like the look of some of the new amenities, its really just the equivalent of a Band-Aid. The real problem with this complex cant be fixed with a coat of paint and some new light fixtures.
The real problem is the tenants. Ive witnessed drug deals right outside of my door on more than one occasion, always very early in the morning (5-6am). I have a dog that I have to take out before I leave for work and it always makes me a little nervous to go outside in the dark, alone - especially after the shootings. I have come out to my car to leave for work and found a note on it from an admirer as well as finding a cupcake at a different time, about a month later. It really makes me feel like people watch routines. So you should be aware of that. I have since bought a few protection items that I take with me everywhere, as one of my neighbors was approached while walking her dog and solicited drugs. If someone really is watching routines, I want to be able to protect myself. Home invasions, burglaries, car break-ins, and shootings have all happened since I moved in here. All in all, it freaks me out to live here.
Please keep this in mind if you move here, Id already be gone if it were possible
