It is an adequate complex. If you're in a pinch, you can often swing some lucky pricing for a solid apartment.
Pros: Quiet neighborhood, nice neighbors. Exterior renovations are currently going on and I think it'll look great. Pool available. Management/staff are all really nice. Mini-gym is always clean and accessible.
Cons: Grill rarely has propane and hot tub is usually as warm/cold as pool. Many lawn/grass areas are constantly flooded due to poor irrigation, so most paths outside of apartment to car are often really bad. Most importantly- maintenance staff is incredibly poor. Repairs take FOREVER and often aren't resolved for months. Usually the issue is 'fixed' but the problem isn't actually resolved. Many temp-solutions versus full repairs. Pretty expensive compared to some of the newer places around Slaughter. What could be most important for newcomers- utilities are AWFUL here. Insulation and shade is significantly lacking in these units- my apartment would run A/C at full, all day in the summer, and the apartment would reach 100*. This is not a joke or exaggeration. The renovations are hopefully replacing the insulation, but also water bill is incredibly expensive here. Between water/electric it can be $400-$600/mo, so even if it's less expensive for rent compared to other complexes, consider utility costs in your budget.
Overall: 3.5/5. OK place to live if you're on a budget but look elsewhere if possible, acceptance is easy. Nice neighbors. Just so many facility problems and a lack of completion on many maintenance problems. The staff is really nice and the place is improving.
