This was my first rental apartment. When I moved in, the price of the apartment was cheap for the size. Things were going super well until I had a very loud upstairs neighbor move in. Now, I'm not one to complain about noise, but they would play music at 2 AM as loudly as possible. They would also grill on the patio which is a major fire hazard, especially with the wood patios. We went to the management office about this and they have done nothing about it. The neighbors continue to be loud and they continue to do it at odd hours, which is against the lease and the city rules, so if you have a neighborly complaint, don't expect management to do anything about it. Starting in 2021, my rent went up $400/month. I tried to negotiate with the leasing office, I even offered to extend my lease to 18 months, but they just waived me away saying this was a corporate decision. At this point, I'm now paying more than $1,300/month for a one bedroom that is cheaply made, outdated, and in South Austin (I've lived here my whole life, no apartment this far south should cost so much). They also delivered our notice of increase of rent 15 days late, so we had no time to look for other apartments. They also have had the pool closed for an entire summer to fix one pipe. I have not once seen them work on the pool. Instead, they've just kept shocking it to make it look nicer for new residents while no one is able to use it. Overall, I wouldn't recommend moving in here. The leasing office won't do anything to fix problems, they don't respond to calls, the apartments are cheap quality, and they will raise your rent astronomically compared to other, nicer apartments in the area.
