Resident ā€¢ 2007 - 2009

2/16/2009

JPI Managment does not care about there RESIDENTS, but they want you to "SHOW THEM THE $MONEY$"!

As well as, the drop box was broken into & a money order I had placed in there was stolen. Without any notice, I came home to an eviction letter on my door, for a money order that was for about 75.00! When I went to deal w/ the management on this issue, they seemed helpful at first. When I returned from my bank w/ my receipt and proof of money order purchase, the GM was busy & it was about quarter til closing time. One of the employees asked if I'd like to make an appointment to see the GM. This made me upset, b/c I had already done my part to resolve the issue, and w/ the employee aware of me coming back to do so. As well as, I was already late for school, so I saw no reason why this could not be resolved right than, like we spoke of prior to me running to get copy of receipts! Basically, I was told that they close @ 6PM & would need to schedule an appointment! I told her 'No, that if she got off at 6PM, than she could leave, b/c I was not needing to speak w/ her, but rather the GM! Finally, after a brief back & forth dispute, the GM saw me! I have been here for almost 2 years and have seen management change 4 times. Currently, they were just bought out by Grey Star, which, I hope will improve either to the way it was when I first moved in, or BETTER! JPI Management & Staff SUCKS!!! They dress the part, but are rude, prudish, snooty, & most of all unprofessional in the way they handle matters w/ the residents. The prices are getting ridiculous! Not to mention that we have a Rat problem. My neighbor informed me that he noticed them in the trees. Sure enough, I noticed them one evening. He mentioned this when I mentioned that I had heard some kind of scratching in my walls. A week later the Rodent control was out here. I informed them of this and they we're nice enough to come an inspect my apartment. They informed me that I probably had a Rat problem b/c my light switches in the study are all loose, as well as the building across the way, is the building they we're treating. The Gentleman for the Rodent Company said he would inform the office. A week later, I saw him outside. He told me that they looked unconcerned and that I should probably go to Corporate or the District Location to speak w/ someone higher up. He said that they had placed a bid on this building to begin with, but had yet to hear anything from the GM. The impression I get from the office, is that Residents and/or customers are not always right! Which, from all the customer service I experienced throughout my years of working, when I worked customer service, the #1 thing was, " Customer Is Always Right", unless it was just too ridiculous of a request or accusation. What ever happened to that motto? I actually have a 1bdrm w/ a study, 1 bth, and attached garage! Location & sq ft are nice, but the prices we're more reasonable than! Before I was even aware of the management being difficult & scandelious. I had neighbors approaching me w/ questions, issues, etc. One neighbor informed me that our Management had posted an eviction letter on there door, indicating they did not pay rent. This person informed me that they handed the Check to an actual staff employee and was given a receipt. When they took the receipt to the office to show proof of payment. They were informed, that b/c of the software JPI uses, the tenant would still be liable for late fees b/c it could not be corrected! What kind of BS is that? The tenant informed me that they did dispute this matter & did not have to pay after all, but imagine the stress? And for what? This tenant has been here going on 5 yrs and indicated that by far, JPI, is the worst! As well as, stating that if things didn't change by the time the lease was up, they would be moving as well. One last thing. As if this isn't enough. The sprinkler alarm system located below my apartment front patio. Has been an on going issue w/ the alarm sounding off on a daily basis! It started in June 2008. Occasionally, it would stop for a day or if lucky, two! Finally, as of two weeks ago, they changed the battery. When all along, they knew that it may be due to just that! Once again, the contractor informed me, that was doing the inspection. There were several different contractors that came out for this thing. Every time each one of them would say " I hope we can get them to get this fixed for ya'll"! All of them indicated that the office did not want to replace the batteries b/c they no longer made them for this type of Sprinkler Alarm System anymore and it was going to in tale a more drastic approach, which I assume the office, management, etc. did not want to spend money on! About two weeks ago, a new battery was placed. Where, how, or if the contractors lied or what, beats me! The point is, it is now 2009! The Sprinkler Alarm System still goes off, just not all day! It is in the early early morning to about mid morning and it goes off. Starts again early evening to mid evening and it shuts off! On this note, I will allow YOU to DECIDE.
