Resident ā€¢ 2011 - 2013

1/19/2013

I've lived at San Marin for almost a year now. When I first moved in, I was promised the moon and back but the initial day I moved in one of the maintenance personnel was roaming around my apartment, 'fixing' things which right off the bat should've shooed me away. They knew almost a month out that I would be moving in that day, so why wouldn't all of that been completed already? As I got settled, it seemed everything systematically broke down within a few weeks. At first it was just some water damage in my ceiling in one of my bathrooms, and next thing I know it's BOTH bathrooms, my AC isn't working (it was actually leaking, and I had TRASHCANS of water each day from the leakage, and that was from it not even being turned on) my vents barely work, my heater doesn't heat any room except the living room and hall area, half of my electrical outlets don't work and of course, my pest issue is out of control. I've contacted the staff and maintenance crew countless times to get all of the above issues resolved, and either I'm ignored, or just constantly put off - but hey, at least I get confirmations! Apparently, my ceiling WAS fixed and I'm just blind. Now, as far as clientele, landscape and amenities go...I'm so not impressed. I've had constant problems with my upstairs neighbors and their noise level (I'm not sure how such small people can make SO much noise, but maybe they're secretly elephants in disguise or something); They literally have knocked down ceiling fixtures from their stomping and carrying on. I complain to the office on a weekly basis and still nothing has been done about it. As far as the landscape goes, it was quite nice when I moved in but now everything's rocky and barren...not much of 'renovation,' if you ask me. The actual exterior renovations were hell, might I add. Whenever they decided to get to my building, half of it was left unpainted for almost three weeks and then our doors and frames were as shoddy as you can get, which took another week or so for them to fix. I don't know if I really should have to point this out, but uh..if you start one building, you probably should finish it before you continue on to the next one. A couple of staff members seem to be helpful, but to be perfectly honest almost everything they do or say is contradicted by the 'manager' ---. I've gotten so many different answers from the five of 'em it's like playing Telephone and hoping against all odds that someone will FINALLY tell me the truth. If one person says one thing I can guarantee that someone else is going to be like: "Oh no, that's not right it's actually blah blah blah." --- is easily the worst of them all, though. He sends out notices and ASKS you to call him, but purposely puts you off on one of the leasing consultants. Why even bother? I might have been a naive first time renter at the beginning of this whole charade, but I wouldn't recommend this torture on anyone. Stay very far away from San Marin.
