This is a nice&#44; safe&#44; and quiet apartment community with generally good people living in there.  The management staff is helpful&#44; but they&#39;re maintenance is pretty slow.  During my 3 month stay there&#44; maintenance requests averaged about a week to fix.  Living in Amherst is no problem.  Moving out of Amherst is another question.  Whatever you do&#44; don&#39;t break the lease.  They are about as flexible as Iron when it comes to negotiating reasonable terms.  Not only do you have to maintain 100&#37; of the rent to the end of the lease&#44; but you&#39;ve got to maintain the electric and water bills too! That was unprecedented in my apartment renting history&#44; and I&#39;ve got a long one. If you&#39;re moving in to take a new job&#44; only do a 3-month lease with these guys until you know it&#39;s going to work out.  Then do another one.  I&#39;d do 3 month leases for the 1st year.  Last&#44; but not least&#44; they are really slow on the Security Deposit return.  Took them 2 months!

I used to love these apartments when I lived here 2006-2008. The laundry room is always filthy&#44; the pools have been closed by the health department&#44; the city had to intervene to get the trash problem under control. I had to prove my rent payments for 4 months due to inaccurate bookkeeping. I heard horror stories from neighbors relating to maintenance issues.  The owner&#44; Wesco Properties&#44; will not return phone calls or hold the management team accountable.

I recently moved out of the apartment complex after many years of peaceful living. The only reason that I moved was because I purchased a home. The grounds are always neat and well maintained as are the apartments. It is a quiet&#44; peaceful complex with a great management team. I recommend Amherst to any young or old couple. I would not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a party complex.

Very Good Community

I have lived in the Amherst for approx seven months and from the signing of the lease to today, the staff, especially the office staff have been more than helpful to go above and beyond my expectations to rectify any situation. From a clogged garbage disposal, to a request to transfer apartments, every question or opportunity has been greeted with a smile and we will get it done. Maintenance request and just a friendly hello have been taken care of in well over a timely manner. Thank you Amherst for helping make this one of my best apartment living experiences ever.
