Resident 2014 - 2015

11/28/2015

Built in 1986, the age of Amherst Apartments, along with the hot Texas weather has caught up with the structure of the buildings. Today is Saturday, November 28, 2015, and this is the wettest year for North Texas on record (for rainfall). . According to residents' complaints--including my own--twenty-plus units experience flooding inside the apartment. Not pipes, but water from the walls. Yes, the walls. The windows, which are cheaply constructed, are as old as the buildings, so moisture and mold are a headache. . I feel sorry for the ladies in the office, because there's nothing they can physically do.. I took pictures of water seeping through the top corner of a bedroom wall, and the walls on either side of the windows. . Everything else about this property is ok, but water soaking through the walls is a deal breaker to say the least. . Stay away from Amherst Apartments until the owners fix the exterior walls and replace the windows with quality, insulated ones. . If this property was located in Houston, it would've been closed down for remodeling a long time ago, but because this area of Texas is usually dry, Amherst Apartments in Bedford has been dodging bullets and lightning bolts over the years by fresh, flat paint and silly brushed aluminum fixtures. . Take care, Readers. God bless you.

We are so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your home at Amherst apartments. We are happy to discuss any details with you if you were not satisfied with communications with the on site team. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] . We can assure you that Amherst has no issues with city inspections and is in no way in danger of being closed down for remodeling. In fact, upgrades are continuously budgeted and completed each year to the community as well as the interior apartment homes. Rental rates vary on the upgrades and fixtures of the interior apartment homes from our standard, gold and platinum finish outs. We understand that a leak is a great inconvenience and would be more than happy to review and discuss options for transfer if needed. Often times a leak as you are describing requires us to gather bids, schedule a vendor and most likely be at the mercy of the weather for completion. We are happy to work with you the best that we can to accommodate you and make you feel more at home at Amherst.
