Renter BeWARE--BIG TIME!!!
A family member just rented an apartment here. We asked many times to see the apartment that he would actually be renting, but we weren't permitted to see the apartment he rented until all the papers were signed--a warning sign that something was probably wrong. They showed us a "model" 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment instead, using the excuse that the apartment he was really getting was being cleaned/updated, etc.--there is NO WAY they did anything but paint in this apartment-there are no "updates" that we can see! The "model" apartment is a GROSS misrepresentation of what you are really getting as far as an apartment! If the apartment you rent looks even HALF as nice as that model, you will be lucky, because the apartment rented to him doesn't even come close to looking like the model! We made a mistake, renting sight unseen, but this was a "first" apartment for him, and of course he wanted to get in as soon as possible, so we continued with the application process, assuming the model was a close representation of what he would get, only a smaller version--not true--at all! The apartment's carpeting is gross; lanoleum in kitchen and bathrooms (that's right, it's not the "wood-looking" vinyl linoleum they show you in the model!) are scratched, scuffed, and cracked..again, nothing like they show you in the model, nor is the carpeting, or the appliances anything like they show you in the model. My family member is stuck here for a year now, but I can sure tell others about the misrepresentation this management company does when they show you the "model" apartment. We are going to ask management what they intend to do about this gross misrepresentation; my guess is nothing. BEWARE renters...this one is very misleading. UPDATE: The manager-Leo came to my family member's apartment and actually had maintenance repair a good deal of the problems found when they first moved in. I have to say I appreciated the attention and timeliness he gave to these matters. He was upset about my review, but I think for the most part, and while I still contend these apartments are not as represented with the model, maybe Leo will make a difference and have higher standards than previous management. We have a year to find out, I guess. We will also have to wait to see if my family member is going to be hit with outrageous "move out" costs for utilities/repairs/etc., as most have complained about in these reviews. But for now, I was really appreciative of Leo's efforts in repairing a lot of the problems in this apartment.Share This Review
