The office staff is really nice and takes the time to know you by name. the rent is cheap. And I guess the pools are decnt.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;  But thats about where the good ends. I&#39;ve lived here almost a year and the look of the place had really gone down since last August. the paint on the buildings is all chipped, there are gross DUCKS walking around everywhere! There are not pedestrian crossing sighns but 4 DUCK crossing signs! The play ground or so its called is ridiculous. There are POTHOLES in the road that are almost impossible to get around, even in my little car, causing me to have to drive through huge holes in the road. No very good lighting at night, which sucks do to the increasing number of little Mexican childrenrunning around the place. Oh, and Ive gotten 3 notices on my door saying to clear off my patio because they will be &quot;powerwashing&quot; my building....well, three notices...no power washing...that should tell you a little abut the place.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Its not the worst in the world, but it could definatly be improved.

We moved here so excited because the schools in Cedar Park are so great. The location is decent in terms of shopping/local parks (Brushy Creek is lovely). That&#39;s  where it ends though. The place is maintained for the most part and has landscaping (as all places do basically) but I wish we paid closer attention. A week after moving here we heard drunk neighbors revving their engines&#44; coming home all hours&#44; slamming doors- stomping around upstairs&#44; loud yelling. And these aren&#39;t teens they&#39;re grown ups acting like this. It&#39;s a crapshoot with apartment living usually. We&#39;ve lived many places but this is the hardest in terms of hostile neighbors/weird vibe. Usually seeing a cop car patrolling the complex makes me feel safe unless it is numerous cars&#44; daily. At least once a week something major happens here. For some weird reason the hot spots of crime are near the playground area/those buildings. Super scary. &#39;Gangster&#39; teens and random men walk around and there&#39;s plenty of drug dealing happening. I&#39;ve witnessed it multiple times in the daytime and a man was selling to teens. They don&#39;t even try and hide what they&#39;re doing.  We tipped off the cops and they can&#39;t legally do much unless it is happening in real time I guess. So it&#39;s hard to rid the place of that element for that reason. The gym has cameras in it but they&#39;re not working/aren&#39;t hooked up to a real surveillance tape. They&#39;re &#39;prop&#39; cameras. The complex raised the rent but is clearly not reinvesting in any of the propery which is a shame. The cameras in the gym need to work as drug deals happen there regularly. I have seen the same guys meeting out front and in the bathrooms like clockwork as a &#39;neutral&#39; zone to sell drugs. It&#39;s scary too as the windows in the gym have no blinds. If you&#39;re there working out at night it&#39;s like advertising you are there alone. I can&#39;t tell you how many times I&#39;ve been in there and had creepy guys walk past and leer inside at me&#44; very intimidating. Three days ago we saw 6 cop cars swoop into the parking lot&#44; sirens blaring (our kid was terrified&#44; crying when she saw this) and the cops questioned a man who was trying to beat down a door to take the girl who was inside.  We saw it unfold as we walked past to get to our car. We heard and saw it all. I only know hearsay since the office will never tell you why the cops were here. Several neighbors I know who live even closer to where it happened and said the man was trying to take the girl away from the apartment. I do not know if it was an ex of the child&#39;s mother or what. Point is&#44; plenty of domestic alteractions happen here. It puts me on edge to see the cops here so much and this is a place where such negativity is I implore anyone who considers moving here to think twice. From just observing and talking to people I know of 7&#44; count &#39;em 7 so called &#39;parents&#39; who have had their kids taken away by Child Protective Services for neglect&#44; etc. That&#39;s insane. The parents in at least 3 of the cases have been drug users (I know this as I have seen/heard the parents high on their own porches...nice). Sad for the kids and this is NOT the kind of people you want around your own kids. Like I said&#44; the nice hardworkign people lay low- because they are smart and protecting their own kids from being around these nutters.

Even something simple as having friends over becomes weird. Know what is awkward? Having friends over and passing guys sitting on their porches (on LaZBoy chairs they dragged out from inside) who swilling cans of beer - daytime with no shirt on and tattoos all over. The guys stare angrily at you and your guests for no apparent reason. Spooky and surreal. If you are clinically obese&#44; on welfare and covered in tattoos you will LOVE this place.

It&#39;s very expensive to buy out the lease so once you move in and want to leave it will cost you. The office staff is terrible&#44; apathetic and unresponsive. The drug dealers all walk around a lot I guess looking for new &#39;clients&#39;?  They&#39;re just everywhere. The pools&#44; gym- even near the park where kids play. Management does not make people clean up clutter and trash from their porches either. Tons of bikes&#44; old mattresses&#44; rugs hanging over railings- I even saw a freaking wooden broken makeshift &#39;gate&#39; one someones porch. I&#39;ve seen the regional manager here (some woman with overprocessed bleached hair and doesn&#39;t even look like she could manage a Sbarro in the mall)  who wanders around and just rides golf carts carrying a random clipboard (another prop?) but can&#39;t get this place cleaned up if her life depended on it. Why does she even visit the property? You can see broken &#44; filthy blinds&#44; ripped curtains&#44; etc. The lifers (as I like to call them) who live her hilariously set up shop and deck out their porches with all sorts of soo dads and decor (even planting outside of their gates&#44; bless their hearts!) They also need to make this place look better and start holding tenants accountable or evicting them after warnings. 

Which brings me to my final grievance. There are ZERO repercussions if you have a complaint it goes into a black hole. The girls up at the office can only do so much on their own. No one higher up follows up or enforces rules. There&#39;s an 800 corporate customer service line. You call it&#44; automated voice tells you leave a name&#44; number&#44; apt. number and why you are calling. No one gets back to you. Ever. There is a new worker in the front office almost weekly not kidding. I have no idea where they find these workers; they have more intelligent people at gas stations. I&#39;m pretty sure someone could commit a homicide and still stay on their lease here. Once the regional manager maybe sorts out her hair. Might I suggest some long layers&#44; less brassy color and perhaps a much needed deep conditioning? Maybe stop wearing Dress Barn suits from 1992? It&#39;s a living caricature) she could actually do her job and triage some of this mess over here. That would be splendid.

We have lived here for 1 1/2 yrs & just renewed for another year!  For a one bedroom/one bath&#44; it&#39;s a better price then most. The management gets to our requests as quickly as possible! Very nice staff and nice place to live. I will and have recommended this community to friends!

Living in MBG

I had a one bedroom apartment in the newer side of the complex back in February of 2008.  I needed immediate move in and a lady there put my number in her phone and even though I was told I wouldn&#39;t have a room until the first week of March&#44; she called me when someone broke their lease and had me in three days after I applied for the lease.  The give student discounts&#44; which was nice because I was attending Austin Community College at the time. I suppose it has been a little while&#44; but I enjoyed living at Middle Brook Gardens.  It was my first apartment and much better than I expected.  Parking was never hard to find&#44; the staff was helpful (though there were a few I didn&#39;t much like).  All these people calling it the Ghetto need to realize&#44; you live in frickin&#39; Cedar Park.. there is NOTHING ghetto about the area.
I had a good experience but I&#39;ll fess up and add in what cons I found:
Crickets do manage to get inside the apartment during heavy rains (but it beats the scorpions my parent&#39;s house seem to attract).
The walls are kind of thin&#44; but it&#39;s nothing horrible.  I could hear people walking upstairs sometimes.
The pools seemed like they were constantly closed and undergoing repair.
I didn&#39;t specify what was wrong with the track for one of the kitchen drawers so when the maintenance guy came&#44; he just took the drawer out and used wood glue to put the particleboard drawer face back together.
(Petty complaint here:)No hand towel rack by the sink.  The bathrooms were big&#44; but the closest towel wasn&#39;t close by.

The Pros:
There was one lady in particular in the office that made me feel so welcome.  She remembered my name and room number and would make sure if I found any problems that someone was there if not that day&#44; the next.
Parking is not assigned&#44; but you can always find nearby parking.
It&#39;s generally quiet.
Spacious closet!  The closet in the bedroom held all of my clothes in just 1/3 of the space.
Lots of storage in the Kitchen.
Huge bathroom for a one bedroom.  
The bathtub was also luxurious.
I loved my neighbors.
Oh!  The front patios are cute!  Plenty of room for patio chairs and a whole jungle of plants if you wish.

Overall&#44; it was nice.  I didn&#39;t have a lot of things to fill my apartment with&#44; but I do have some pictures to give you some idea.


I much enjoyed middle brook.

I cannot believe how much I hate living in Cypress Garden Apartments. After dealing with a bug infestation for months, then having it rain inside my apartment twice, and the AC breakung down 5-6 times(not the only issues). I have had to go purchase a fog bomber and outdoor Raid for the bug problem.  Keep in mind you pay a monthly pest control fee. I have gotten onto an argument with said pest control about constant bug issues for them to tell me they have never seen any bugs. The police are here all the time due to drugs, theft, a 16 year old pulling out a gun on someone at the playground and I&apos;m sure other issues. I wish i had researched this place more as I move from out of state. I have only been here since February and it just keeps getting worse. I highly recommend moving anywhere else.

Someone tried to break into our apartment last night. The door handled  was jiggled then plants were knocked over as someone was trying to aggressively pry open our window (where our kid happens to sleep, too much to even think about).. They ran off before we could see who it was. This was midnight our lights were off so it probably looked like no one home or we were asleep (watching movies awake thank god). I have no words for how disturbing this is and truly want to warn anyone.  This is one of a few incidents where safety has been an issue. We&apos;re looking to move when we can. Lots of noise day and night too and creepy sketchy type of people walking around at all hours so honestly no idea who did this (could have been another neighbor for what we know) We are very shaken up and did call the police as calling the office won&apos;t help. We don&apos;t feel safe here and have had our cars vandalized too. It&apos;s not gonna get better here not by a longshot. I see cops and ambulances here daily and no one ever knows what happened (office can&apos;t or won&apos;t tell you i guess).

I have lived here for a year and a half, and have not had any problems.  The staff is courteous and friendly, and maintenance has always handled my requests promptly.  The grounds are typically well cared for, and my neighbors are polite and respectful (no parties, loud noises, etc.).  I would definitely recommend this complex to others.

I have enjoyed this community, nice and quiet.  Lots of birds and squirrels.  Lush grass when they don't cut grass to low.  Could use some bird baths and more florals throughout community.
If you have to pay rent late they don't harass and work with you to pay up to thirty days late.  Maintenance is responsive and quick.

The neighbors have been absolutely amazing and so kind. However the management has been over all garbage. Things are almost constantly breaking for no reason, it takes forever for anything to even be acknowledged, the dog park has been in shambles since we moved in, and no one seems to know how to fix anything.

The pools are never opened and when they are they're cloudy. New management has allowed trashy people to move in then make excuses as to why they're not doing anything about it. I moved in in 2017 and have never had issues with surrounding neighbors until the people moved in downstairs. I have made numerous complaints about the tenants who moved in below in August by email, phone and in person to the office documenting the disturbances and including evidence. I have also called the non emergency police line for the disturbances coming from this neighbor aa well and have documentation. Now paying for a smart package and the thermostat that does whatever it wants whenever it wants, not what you set it at and I was not able to get the smart lock because Northland corporate office did not approve a new hole to be put in the door so I am paying an extra $30 for 2 sensors at the water heater and under the kitchen sink for THEM to be able to monitor THEIR equipment. They painted the outside which is like putting lipstick on a pig because the interior is still old and not upgraded in the least. There are continual potholes at the front entrance, it's like having to avoid landmines. Rent has gone up to 'compete' with area complexes but they have all upgraded their properties. The office staff doesn't communicate in a timely manner if at all. Valet trash is a joke as the dumpster is 20ft away and I have no desire to let trash sit on my balcony in hopes someone gets it. I am very capable of taking 2 minutes to take it myself. This should be an optional thing and mandatory as I know some older or disabled folks could use this service. I'm sure there's more issues I'm forgetting but these are the main complaints.

This was the worst experience in my life. I started in at three bedroom was given the wrong layout because of covid. And literally felt I could not talk to management and my boyfriend had to do all the talking because the first two and a half years I was there I was completely ignored no matter what I said to management. I had to spend hundreds for storage for dishes because I couldn&apos;t even put plates in my cabinets because they were so small. In the first 3 days I had a fire in my stove my refrigerator had issues my dryer went out and a hole in my bathtub. All management would tell me is about my cabinets they couldn&apos;t fix them because I lived there. When they brought in the new dryer and the new stove they ripped the corners off my walls never tried to replace it or fix it they expected me to put in a ticket when they saw what they did. The maintenance man at one point was living below me smoking weed all day I actually came home from work and thought my teenagers were and I was freaking out and it turned out it was him. He was fired and moved out after he had brought roaches into the apartment with his dirtiness and they ran up to my apartment even though I was paying for Pest control I was told by the managers I had to pay more Pest Control to even have them come kill the roaches. And in 3 years my rent went up $600 they thought this apartment was worth $21 00. Worst experience of my life.
