Lived here for about a year. Just needed a basic apartment close to work. So glad I left this place a few weeks ago. It is getting worse and worse.
Police are always there, usually hauling someone into the back of a squad car.
Technically, it is not a bad area, just a dumpy apartment complex.
On a weekend night, it is impossible to find a parking spot, also the parking spots are so narrow that your car always gets bumped into. My car got hit in the parking lot, they just drove away and didn't even leave a note. A kid was driving through the parking lot, music blasting, and came inches from running me over at a high speed.
I used to come home from work during the day to eat my lunch at noon. There are tons of weird people walking around in pajamas. Zero class.
People walk around drinking beers all time time, and just throw the cans of cheap beer all over the grounds.
I have watched people do major repair work on their vehicles in the parking lot. Spilling oil all over the place, and leaving the car up on jackstands.
There are people who think it is OK to move their living room furniture outside on the porch, and sit in it all day. ------ trash type people.
Speaking of trash, the dumpster is always overflowing. Even if it is empty, people are too lazy to throw garbage bags in the dumpster, so they just throw it near or around the dumpster. I have watched the maintenance guys have to pick up tons of trash and throw it in the dumpster.
There is dog poop every where. The apartment put in these poop bag stations, but they obviously aren't used.
The apartment is known for putting flyers on every door basically threatening tenants with fines for doing dumb stuff like littering, or having a couch on their front porch. Its just annoying, and people are just trashy. The last flyer made me feel like I was a little kid being scolded. They threatened taking away package delivery service, noting that other northland complexes have already done this.
This is section 8 housing folks. Very few people near my apartment actually worked. Their cars never left the parking lot for weeks at a time.
There were several evictions right in my building, turnover is super high.
Last summer, we were swimming in the pool in broad daylight, and a couple started having sex in the pool in front of us. Last time I used that pool. I never used the gym, it stunk like it was never cleaned.
Also there was a stabbing at the complex. Cedar Park PD put up signs all over the complex, near the mailboxes. The very next day they were all removed. Gee, I wonder if the apartment removed those signs, that can't be good for business.
On to the quality of my actual apartment. You get what you pay for here. My 1 bedroom apartment had sky high utility bills. About double of what my new house is. There is no insulation in the walls, and every one of my windows leaked when it rained.
During summer, we would sweat in the bedroom, and freeze in the living room. During winter, the opposite.
Since the windows leaked every time it rained, all of them had black mold growing around them. The ice maker stunk like rancid water, I could never use it. The dryer was 20 years old. It would take 3-4 cycles to dry a load of clothes. The washer would chew clothing and rip it.
Finally, this is the main reason I am writing this review. The complex screwed me out of my deposit, even though we had a spotless apartment at move out.
I have watched people move out of these dumpy apartments, and just throw everything on the front porch (gross furniture, you name it), then throw the complex the keys.
Maybe that is what I should have done. But no, we spent a whole weekend scrubbing the inside of our apartment, including walls and baseboards.
The complex found a way to charge me my exact security deposit for two very minor things.
Avoid. Avoid.
