It could be better to be honest. We LOVE the location, always have. We love having a garage as it is a perfect place for our deep freezer. But over the past few years with several changes in management, we have dealt with unpleasant experiences. The major issue we had was when a tree fell on our vehicle and caused $6K in damages. We previously reached out to the complex (under Greystar at the time) and informed them that the tree was leaning due to rot and eventually would fall, and to please remove it. They did not remove it, and it fell two months later. Once it fell on the car, they removed the tree from the scene before my husband or I could take pictures for my insurance company, and they did not call us or knock on the door to let us know what happened. So not only did they not remove a dead tree before damage could happen, once it did happen, they tampered with the evidence for my insurance and didn't bother to speak with me. That left a lasting bad impression on us that hasn't really gone away. Under Bell Partners, we spoke with them begging them to not increase the rent to its current rate, as I was waiting on a raise and the rising costs making it more difficult for us while we wait. The leasing agent I spoke to was horribly cold saying "with all due respect, we can't use your labor union dispute as a basis for not raising the rent". While I'm aware of that, the way he said it was pretty disgusting. Then when we were leaving he had the nerve to say "Happy 4th of July" as if we were actually in the mood to celebrate a rent increase to $1547 a month for a tiny 763sq ft townhome, and that's up from our original $1270 rent. At this point it's not worth the money and they are pricing out long term residents.
And I'm not seeing any major improvements to the property under Bell management. The gates have been open for MONTHS. Homeless people continue to come in roaming the buildings and ripping open garbage bags to scavenge, and throwing the trash all over the ground in the process. Calling security is a joke and impossible because the phone lines have changed to route you to a central location off property, so you can never get a hold of who you need to speak to. This will be our last year here. When we moved in, Bell had just sold it to a new mgmt company, and a friend of mine that lived here when they managed the property the first time around told me how horrible they are. Now that they are managing it again, their poor management is blatantly obvious. If we didn't like our location and garage so much we would've left ages ago, but this year is it for us for good this time.
