So far living at Griffis (formerly Essence) has been wonderful. Any issues and questions have been addressed immediately. The safety and cleanliness at this property is what makes me happy to call this place home.

My experience hasn't been great. Many packages lost by staff need after they have confirmed receipt of said packages. They were very nonchalant about them losing the packages. I was told "this is a courtesy, we don't have to receive your packages." Also, things are always breaking/not working. Elevators. Gate. The walls are extremely thin. You can CLEARLY hear your neighbors entire conversation. For the amount of money I am paying, I definitely expect better.

I've been a resident of Essence on Maple for 4 years and renewed twice. The rent increased both times, however, I like the area of Oak Lawn because it's nice & quiet. The property is nice with updated appliances.

Essence is a good community to live at. The security is good, so I've always felt safe here, which is my number one priority when looking for a place to call home! The amenities are nice, the fitness center is really nice, and the pool is great even though it does get closed sometimes for maintenance. The parking garage is large enough I never have to worry about finding a spot to park.

Overall the experience has been mostly positive. It however is concerning the amount of time it takes to fix something Ex: the pool was out the entire week of 4th of July due to them not providing continuous maintenance. I also am a bit concerned with how often the office staff turns over, you never get to know them. The best one by far was Gio whom I believe moved to another property. Lastly, they need to invest funding in the ground work, the sprinklers run everywhere and mulch is much needed.

Overall disappointed in my experience at the apartment this far. The apartments themselves are decent and updated which makes sense as this is the newest community in the area. With that being said, we are paying a premium for a newer community but the amenities are anything but that. Maintenence lacks an overall sense of urgency when it comes to fixing issues within the property. I've sent several emails regarding fobbed doors not closing properly or latching which is cause for safety concern. Additionally, our pool has been dirty and filled with algae for the past 2 months. I will say I'm not surprised as I've never seen anyone cleaning the pool. Emails go unanswered when bringing things to their attention. I likely won't be renewing my lease as I can get a better experience for the same price elsewhere.

A lot of community items are broken and I don't understand. The pool has been green and it has never been like this before. It's unsafe and I would expert better from such a great apartment complex...

I love living here! The amenities are amazing and the staff is great. The only concerning thing is all of the break ins that have been happening in the parking garage. They did hire a security guard to walk the grounds at night so hopefully that gets things under control.

Staff is awesome as well as facility as a whole. A couple safety issues at the beginning but they seem to have gotten that under control by hiring security guards to walk the premises. Awesome amenities and community as a whole.

The high-end finishes are unlike any you'll find in comparable luxury apartments in Dallas! Stained concrete floors, gorgeous backsplash and beautiful counters in kitchen and bathroom. Tall ceilings make the units feel so spacious.
