I have really enjoyed living in the Mancheater State Thomas complex. I have a brownstone that opens up to the street which gives me a sense of a private home with all the perks of community living. And, dogs are made welcome!!! The State Thomas neighborhood is walkable with the Arts District just around the corner and easy access to a Whole Foods market, Griggs Park and lots of restaurants. The staff have always been responsive to concerns or maintenance issues and worked to resolve things so everyone is satisfied. Neighbors have become friends here at Manchester State Thomas. I am glad to be part of this neighborhood!!!

(disclosure: I&#39;ve never written an apartment review before because they always seemed irrelevant to me&#44; but my experience at this apartment forced my hand.)

Manchester State Thomas is the polished turd of Uptown. Sure it looks OK based on its location&#44; but get too close and you ll regret it. Drastically overpriced units&#44; subpar amenities&#44; very unfriendly if not downright rude leasing staff (if James is there&#44; run )&#44; and a gym that basically doubles as a broken workout machine storage unit (see attached picture).

We only lived there a year due to the aforementioned problems&#44; and if I could have moved out faster I would have. 

We were referred by a moving company in the area&#44; but were refused the free move due to some paperwork issues on their end. Strike 1.

I can t remember a time when we didn t have maintenance issues (though I will say that their maintenance staff does their best to keep up with the poor construction of the property). Strike 2.

Then to top it all off&#44; they lost 1 of our garage door openers after move-out&#44; charged me for it&#44; and then James the manager accused me of lying when I asked that it be taken off our bill. Strike 3.

For anyone trying to decide whether or not to move here&#44; heed my advice: move elsewhere and don t look back. If you have the money to live here&#44; clearly you have options. Use them. Buy a house&#44; live at any of the 20 other nearby apartments&#44; rent a condo&#44; etc  Heck&#44; live in a tent at Griggs Park. Even that would beat the turd sandwich that is MST.

Living at State Thomas

Best uptown apartments and townhomes! We downsized from a 3 bedroom house and all our stuff fit. My husband loves that we can still have an oversized 2 car garage that he&apos;s used to and still be walking distance to everything. Really happy we made the decision to live here. Not much more you could ask for here :)
