My Life Changed for the Worst in Only a Few Months

Originally I posted the following: I thought when moving to Nantucket Landing that it was a nice place, gated and affordable. I can afford a more expensive apartment but I wanted to save a little money on the side. I had plans to maybe get a new car or a house in 2012. First thing's first. They are gated but their gates do not work. The back gate is chained shut. Anyone can get into the complex as they so please. I was told they were keeping them open until everyone gets situated and they would hand out keycards. Upon my move in date, I had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for them to locate my apartment keys since their location was unknown. I had to return to management and request my parking permit since it was not provided the day I moved in. I also had to request a copy of my lease since it was not provided neither the day I signed the lease nor the day I actually moved in. I did not receive the move in checklist until the beginning of June when my actual move in was in April. I brought to the management's attention when I returned it that my A/C, kitchen light and utility light were not working properly and requested they have them fixed as soon as possible. I was informed that this would be taken care of the next day, however I had to call weeks later before maintenance actually came out to fix the A/C. My kitchen and utility closet lights are still not fixed as of this day. I also have these tiny holes in my shower wall where tiny little roaches come out. It's disgusting. I will not use the tub period and I wear my flip flops to shower. In my own shower! There is also no cable line ran into my apartment. I tried getting cable installed and ended up having to cancel upon finding that out. The parking is horrible. Residents do not hesitate to put notes/letters on your car even if you aren't parked in a reserved parking spot. When tempertures rise outside, they have the nerve to lock the pools or not clean them. I have also had a friend tell me that my aparment looks nothing like it does on their website, nantucketlanding.com. And the one time I get my days mixed up and paid rent before the actual amount was in my bank account, they sent me an eviction notice to leave within 3 days. Like I was actually going to be able to find another apartment, a mover and the money to move in 3 days at such short notice. I updated the original post to the following: My car has been broken into and my stereo stolen. Right there in the complex parking lot. The only thing they will do about this is file an "incident report." They will not allow me to leave unless I pay a reletting fee. Even after all I've been through and that I no longer feel safe there. I want out now. I cannot put myself into any further danger than what I am in now. I advise anyone that plan to be a prospective resident for Nantucket Landing to rethink it. They may be cheap and affordable but you are getting exactly what you pay for. They actually tried to talk me out of leaving. That's too bad because I have already sent in my application at a new complex faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from here. I will be sending in the application fee TODAY! I have never been sooo happy to be so close to October. Once I'm gone, I will not look back...EVER!
