I can't speak for someone else, but I can speak for myself. My experience in the years that I have been here have improved with the current staff (Melva, Rochelle, and Felicia). Reviews here contain complaints mainly of "kids", neighbors, parking issues, and upkeep. I wonder have these issues been presented first in a professional manner, and a stern approach taken if results didn't come from the original meeting. Just give Melva a chance, because she is really trying to clean up a mess created by the previous manager that seemed more concern in getting the occupancy rate up to make her look good. Yes, I have an issue with children in the parking lot throwing rocks. The damage to someone's vehicle as a result reflects negatively on the complex. At what point to we place the blame on the parents, which are the people truely responsible? Someone else's children is not my problem to deal with. No one every see my children, unless we are leaving my apt and going to the car. When they want to get out of the house or I want them out of the house, there are several parks and afterschool programs in the area to we can take our children. If you really want their time to be constructive, take them to the library. There is one on the corner of Timberglen and Midway, along with parks on the same street. Art has my upmost respect for the excellent job he does trying to maintain this property, and the hours he have spend trying to meet these requests. I have even seen him running around here working after his shift is over. Like most hardworking people can relate, this level of devotion is overshadowed my negative reviews. Requests are handled in the order they come in, and the priority of a request. Recently, I had an incident of someone stealing out of my apartment. Of course, no one saw, heard or reported anything. However, my door was fixed and locks were changed within the hour. Thats service. I can say that my work orders were handled appropriately, because some of the parts had to be ordered. I am not saying that the people complaining about service here are wrong. I just have not experianced anything to that extent. So, I am not going to degrade bases on something I don't know. I would like to see the gates closed at night and a guard on duty (even if just for a trial period) to minimize the chance of someone breaking it again, and to further cut down on the hanging out in the parking lot. Parents not letting their children play in the parking lot, because it is dangerous with the many blind spots. Faster police response may be a need. Insullation and window check for better energy usage. Have taken a look around lately, listened to the noise level, or even noticed the cut down in traffic, especially the ones that don't even live here? The office is cleaning up this property, and listening to us. If we came together as a community and work with the office, we can fix the problems that we are still having. We can't automatically assume that the office know everything that happens. We have to present these issues to them, and allow them the time to work through them. I am confident that we now have a responsible staff that will take care of them. The attendance is minimum at the periodic meetings they have in the office to address issues is evidence that we are not making a stance. I would like to see more tenants become involved in getting this community to a better status than when I moved in. If your issues are not corrected after doing so, I can see a reason for all of the negative responses. Again, these are some great people working in the office now. Talk to them, and see what we can get done. Otherwise, you are penalizing a staff that is working to make it a better community with negative reviews. This community was not always in this shape.
