DON´T DO IT!

I am coming to the end of my second.....

AND FINAL.....

year here at Milano.

STAFF: The office staff is the most unfriendly you could ever imagine. The outlandish late fees they try to charge are beyond reproach. For being one day late, they essentially wanted to charge me a 22.5% late fee (based on my current rent price). FOR ONE DAY! That is over $125 for ONE DAY LATE.....

PARKING: I am trying to figure out how you can run out of parking spaces when the vast majority of the apartments have attached garages! Of course when most of the tenants have converted their garage into a living room/play room/bar area and the 5 tenants that live there, plus their 30 friends are all home at the same time...it makes for a nightmare. Don´t get me wrong. I love what some people have done with their garages. However, when it causes problems for others...that is an issue. At one time, I think we had a guy selling used cars out of his apartment. At any given time, he had 3-5 extra cars hanging out infront of our building. No one ever said a word to him about it or did anything to help the situation.

Noise Level: I am on the 3rd floor, so I do not hear anything from neighbors above me. For the most part, I do not hear anything from side to side anymore. The last few tenants that have moved in next to me were awful! They made the noise level unbearable. The biggest problem I have now are the large dogs that bark at all hours, the little yippy dogs that get left on the patio and try to attack you as you walk by, and the kids that are allowed to run rampant and unsupervised. On more than one occasion, I have had children out playing in the street in front of my complex. My car/truck has been hit with everything from footballs to skateboards and bikes. I have nothing against dogs or kids by the way. I have a dog. He stays in a crate when we are not home, not on the patio. He rarely barks unless being provoked by the other dogs in the complex.

Grounds: I agree with the dog poo problem. The sprinklers water cars more than grass. There are trees that are dead and laying over on the ground.

Safety: Amazingly enough, the security lights GO OUT when you walk under them. The gates that do work are very sporadic. The back gates are CHAINED SHUT. You can´t use them at all, yet the pedestrian gate that is supposed to be card key access only is broken and no one does anything about it. We have all kinds of thugs running around and now living in the complex. It gets scary!

Construction: Basically things are falling apart. The blinds were broken when I moved in two years ago and still have not been fixed. The screen door was bent beyond use when I moved in and still has not been fixed. The shelves in the pantry are very unstable and on the verge of falling down. The bathtub feels like it is going to seperate from the wall everytime I step into it.

Maintenance: Nothing has ever been fixed.

Office Staff: Holier than thou! Had they been here when I looked at this place two years ago, I never would have rented from them. If the apartment complex was as hoity toity as it claims to be, I could almost see this kind of attitude. But it isn´t, so get over yourself.

Overall: I am moving out as soon as my lease is up. I would rather live in a box than live in this place any longer than I legally have to.
