SKY HIGH PRICES

Just received renewal offer that only gives us 14 days to make a decision. Normally you should receive about 90 to 120 days since you have to give the complex a 60 day notice. So I have 14 days to make a decision in order to give a proper notice if I am going to move out. The second part is that the renewal amount is $332.00 more than what we pay now. The apartment is not upgraded the cabinets are falling apart. Then the electric bills are outrageous $300-$400 every month sometimes more. The carpet are flat and you can feel the sub floor bumps. There are nails that are coming out of the carpet. The vinyl flooring does not stay down. There are parts of the floor that there is no subfloor or it is soft. When you walk on the floors they creak. You have to listen to people open and close there garage all night long. It use to be so much better. We have had nothing but problems since we were forced to transfer to this unit.

Dirty

There is cat litter (used)going down the stairs and in front of my door. There is actual cat waste on my door mat.This is not the first time that I have reported this to the office. It has been here for over 24 hours now. When I told the office I got another generic response. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. What am I supposed to do with that? Last week it was food all the way down. This community is getting worse and worse. Totally disgusting and poor management.

It has been a nightmare. First we were forced to move to a larger home after 1 year. Knowing that other MAA communities do not do this really made us feel like a target. The staff was great during the freeze of 2020 but after new manager it has been worse. The apartment that we were moved into was not ready it was dirty and there were so many leaks. The microwave blew the first week. The refrigerator had to be replaced. The kitchen sink flooded 3 times. The bathtub faucets did not work and had to be replaced. The vent in the laundry room still does not work. The washing machine was so disgusting and I was told that they did not have to clean that. The garage stairs "CARPET" is so gross. The A/C heater do not cool or heat the entire home. You electric bills will be over $400.00 every month. Their solution is to get a portable A/C. I guess they will recommend space heaters during the winter. The rent amount is not worth what you get. The apartments are dated and not kept up well.

HOT and MISERABLE

Our A/C has not worked since March. They have tried several things but always the same result. We are hot and sweating in our apartment. We cannot watch TV in the living room, eat in the dinning room or cook because it is too hot. We literally have to sit in our home with no lights and nothing on and we are still hot. Sweating just sitting on the couch or floor. Our bills have been over $360 and $400 and they still do not have a solution. The walls are hot the floors are hot and the A/C just runs all day non-stop. They we were told to expect the bill to be 30% to 70% more. That is on top of the over $2000 rent payment for an apartment that is not even updated. You can smell cigarette smoke from the garages. We have also started getting lizards in the house because there are so many holes in the building and gaps near the windows. The Windows are very old and drafty as well. The doors have gaps you can see outside. When you open the pantry door you can feel the heat from outside. You can feel gaps in the subfloor when you walk and in my apartment you can feel a slope in the living room. Update I was told that they will not do anything else and that we just have to suffer. They do not care about the well being of their residents. They would not even compensate for their equipment not working for months.
