My experience at this community started exceptionally great and then it completely went down hill into utter chaos of roaches, financial burden, and psychological/physical stress. It is affecting my overall health and wages because I work from home, but cannot work due to the fact that I cannot unpack. All of our personal belongings are now exposed to roaches. On the first day, my partner and I killed about 30 roaches that varied in size from baby to mid-size. I saw a roach on the bathroom counter near my toothbrush, so now we keep our toothbrushes in zip-lock bags. Yesterday, one crawled up his leg. The kitchen appliances were covered in grime, scum, and absolute filth. The ceiling had webs with dead bugs. There were collected piles of dust on top of doors, towel rack. The garage door was not aligned for the lock to work. (By the way, the property manager Multiple holes in the wall from the previous tenant. The dryer was not connected, which is a fire hazard. Apparently, the property manager and leasing agent inspected and approved this unit that is not up to minimum health/sanitation standards for any resident to live in, new or current. Since, they have helped us with this problem at the bare minimum. We might even have to pay more for the second round of movers we need to hire due to THEIR mistakes, we will see. We are struggling way more through this pandemic due to their lack of preparations and follow-ups. If I was allowed to see this unit when I had asked, I would not have signed the lease. I was not allowed to see the unit because I was told by the property manager that the unit would be occupied by a cleaning crew all day and that it would be "ready by tomorrow," the move-in day. What did the cleaning crew do all day? If the condition of this unit is considered clean, I wonder what it looked like before. Seriously, what did the cleaning crew clean? Was it really inspected? How could this be approved by a "professional management"? It feels like a scam and we feel extremely wronged, but we are trying to stay hopeful and positive. They are somewhat trying to help to find a resolution to this issue that they allowed and created, but it is a hassle and it's as if we are bargaining with this company to be treated fairly, instead of them taking the initiative to take care of it. I take COVID-19 seriously and now I have more people and staff come in to see the issues and to fix them that puts us more at risk. This tells me that they did not care about our move-in or the condition of the unit. It was not properly taken care of and now we are paying the price. To them, this is just a job, but to us, this is our livelihood that is being highly inconvenienced and negatively affected during the pandemic. It is on-going to this day and we will see how it gets resolved after our unit transfer this weekend. We requested the unit to be cleaned and sprayed again before we move in from the trauma we received. The dryer connection was finally fixed this morning, FIVE DAYS after moving-in. We found out the work order for the dryer was put in on Monday, four days after moving in. We went every day to the office about this issue and nothing was done until we spoke to the property manager. We will see how things turn out and hopefully be able to update on a more positive note.
