Resident 2002 - 2003

Be afraid...be VERY afraid.....

Like most people using this service, I have to agree that the office staff of the Milano apartments is the WORST that I have ever encountered. They had a Fed Ex package marked "urgent overnight" in the office and never notified me. If I had not contacted the sender, heaven only knows when I would have received my package. They called and told me that I would have to move to another unit (apparently, my downstairs neighbor had complained several times and they never notified me). I called and asked what the problem was and was told, "He´s just an ---, complaining all the time. We told him that it was ´part of apartment living´ but he kept complaining so we had to say that in front of him". (Makes me wonder what they told my neighbor). Any time I complained about a stereo or other loud noise, I was told to call the police, the apartment office wasn´t the one to handle that.

When I moved in, one employee promised me that I could avoid certain charges. Of course, when I moved in, he no longer worked there and they had no record of a person by that name working for them. This resulted in increased (hidden)fees and even though they were quick to cash the checks for these fees, they neglected to make a notation on my record and I had to battle with them for months to show that I had paid.

They don´t keep a record of who pays for covered parking spaces and they have no record of the license plates of their tennants (even though that information is included on your lease). Instead, they send an employee who looks all of about 18 years old to go door to door and rudely ask tennants, "What do you drive". When my girlfriend asked why he was asking that, he never identified himself as an employee (and wasn´t wearing identification, nor did he EVER provide any) and rudely said, "No, I don´t have to tell you that, WHAT DO YOU DRIVE". When we complained to the office, no apology or explanation was offered.

I´ve never used the weight room (they never gave me a key/swipe card/entry code for after hours - which is when I would be using it), but when I moved in, I was told that a personal trainer lived onsite and offered free sessions in exchange for a lower rent. When my girlfriend called the office to schedule a session with him/her, she was told that no such arrangement had been made. Two weeks later we received a note on our door proclaiming the ´onsite personal trainer´ and how to schedule a session. Again, my girlfriend called, and again, she was told that this program was not offered.

Finally (whew!) the gates have worked about two out of the eighteen months that I have lived here. Part of the "ammenities" listing (which is the reason for charging additional rent) is a GATED community. When the gates did work, the code I was given didn´t, but since they were ALWAYS broken, I guess that didn´t matter.

After driving by the Milano several times before I moved in, I thought it would be heaven to live there... I was wrong, it was TOTAL HELL!
