To the person who wanted a review from a current tenant

I have lived at Avery Point for several years now. For the most part, it's a quiet, nice community to live in. Maintenance is pretty good, and I've never had any major complaints (except rent cost, which I'll get to.) I do think that the fairly new "curb trash pick-up" system is just a way to get $6 a month from each tenant, because it's basically a joke. It's done nothing but clutter up our curbs with trash that people throw out in grocery bags, and sometimes loose trash is laying all round. It's really unappealing to look at, and the complex is making a ton of money off this "service" because most of the tenants don't use it. However, my biggest complaint is with the rent discrepancies. They overcharge long term tenants and give breaks to people in/out on short term leases. I was told a 9 month lease was the shortest lease they sign only to find out other tenants were on shorter leases. My rent has increased over $200 a month in two years, and come to find out a tenant across the hall was offered a lease at $100 a month lower during the same month I signed for the same apartment floor plan in the same building. There are numerous stories like this when you talk to tenants, so beware. They will tell you anything to get you to sign leases at the highest dollar possible - while other tenants are being offered less in the same leasing period.
