Killer Cockroaches

My two roommates and I moved in almost a year ago and when we first did a walk through of our first apt the manager opened the door to the closet hall and 3 cockroaches ran out. Not a big deal, they're just bugs and he assured us that our apt would be sprayed before the move in date. <br>The first two months after moving in, the cockroaches kept multiplying. We tried everything from spraying the outside of the doors to the cockroach motels and never left food out. It was kind of odd, since we lived on the second floor but it wasnt until after another two times of getting sprayed for bugs that we figured out where they were coming from.<br>We were friends with one of the maintenance guys on staff and he alerted us that our next door neighbors were NASTY. He said and I quote, "I opened the door to fix the sink and I saw hundreds on the floors, walls and countertops." Apparently the cockroack colony had been entering our apt through the ajoinging sink pipe... sick! They had such a bad infestation that our apt and theirs had to get a complete spray down from top to bottom. Everything that we had just put away onto shelves had to come down. We had to cover our furniture, wrap our dishes and be out of the house for 4 hours after. <br>O yes, it gets better. Our neighbors just happened to have kids. Not one loud noisy brat but 3... or maybe 4. I could never keep up with them. It was sick to walk up the stairs and smell their stink everyday. (one of the boys-a 12 yr old- winked, whistled and hit on me and my roommates everytime he saw us.<br><br>Yes the bugs and neighbors were more then disgusting, but the service was terrible. I understand that there are hundreds of tenants to deal with but to fix my garabage disposal in the same month I report it broken is not too much to ask. Especially when it had rotting food sitting in it. <br>Our wall in the washer/dryer room was wet and the pipes were leaking and we had a bad rain storm one night and our ceiling started leaking! <br>If this werent enough are apt faces a major busy street and although I enjoy watching live cops the sirens, horns and peeling out get old at 3 am. <br>On top of everything, our handy man on the inside informs us that the designers of the apts decided to save management a little money by putting in an air conditioner suitable for a 1 bedroom in a 3 bedroom apt. Our electricity bill peaked over the summer at $289. There was a good 20 degree temp difference between the master room and the guest room down the hall and when maintenace was called they merely came and cleaned it out and repositioned the vents. <br><br>But hey if you bring your off bug spray and fans for every room its not so bad once you invest in some ear plugs and air fresheners.<br>
