We have lived here for almost two years, and things have changed a lot. Our first year was wonderful, managed by a great group. Unfortunately that changed. Around spring of 2014, management changed to Portico instead of Behringer Harvard, and the people they brought were TERRIBLE. We were charged double rent one month, and all we could get to resolve the issue was an "oops" and "you'll have to get with your bak to fix that"... excuse me? You can't even reimburse me for the overdraft I incurred because of YOUR mistake? What financial fun we had that month. They also had issues with billing in general with regards to adding the correct amount of utilities, and every tenant who paid rent online received rent due notices for charges that weren't showing up when accounts were auto-drafted. This issue did not arise for people who paid by physical check. Instead of politely informing residents, the management group placed the notices on our doors for all to see and in our resident files indicating we were not current on payments! When confronted with this issue, management claimed that it would be resolved. This happened for three months until we finally decided to end our automatic draft and write a real check instead. So much for online convenience. The staff was also unprofessional - Nina in particular dropped f-bombs while talking about the construction groups working on the buildings when I was visiting about a package that went missing. I was floored. On the subject of packages, when I would get notices from the post office about a delivery, I would go down to the front and without fail, be told after one minute of searching that it wasn't there. On more than one occasion I went to the package room myself and found my own mail hiding in plain site. Many of the residents I talked to felt the same way about this terrible group, and I know many formally complained and/or terminated their lease. We stayed because we did not want to pay to break our lease. A few months back, Nina and crew disappeared (at least, I haven't seen her) and we have a new set of managers. My husband visited with one of them when he went to get a package for me (because I would have blown my lid if I had to deal with a "missing" package yet again) and they indicated that a change was in place and they would stick around to fix things. So far so good - the old things I enjoyed about this place are coming back, like the monthly newsletters and socials, and friendly staff who aren't bothered by their jobs. It's a little too late for us as we won't be renewing our lease when it's up, but hopefully things stay better for the next tenants. All this being said, maintenance is the best here; quick to respond and very courteous; we were happy that this was the one thing that didn't change.
