My g/f and I have lived in this complex since January of this year. The complex itself is really nice and the grounds are kept neat for the most part. The apartments themselves are ok, but a little overpriced for what you get. But, for the energy corridor area it s very reasonable. The maintenance people are friendly and they are really good about getting things fixed within the 48 HR window they advertise (otherwise you get free rent until they fix it). Keep in mind there are pre-selected maintenance requests that only apply to this rule. There is no shortage of restaurants within walking distance of this complex, as well as shopping (Kroger right across the street and a Target shopping center about 2 miles down the road). It is a little hectic getting in and out around the morning and afternoon (after work) because Eldridge is a busy street, but it s not really that bad if you re brave. The only concern anyone should have moving in here is the crime. Three days after moving in, I witnessed two men breaking into an apartment downstairs from us. We ve also had about 4-5 notes from the office left on our door about break-ins. The last note was 2 or 3 days ago about a man robbing a woman of her purse when she got out of our car. It s a big city so of course there is crime, but it doesn t help matters that there is a Metro Bus stop right in front of the complex and it s not very hard to get in through the gates. I don t ever really feel like I m in danger or anything, but I do worry about my g/f coming home after work, so I usually walk her in just in case. They do have security that drives around on a golf cart throughout the day, which is nice. The staff is really friendly, and usually if anyone leaves negative feedback about staff, that means they didn t pay their rent on time or they did something stupid and got caught. If you treat people with respect, you get it back, and I ve never had a complaint about anyone there. Randy is one of the nicest people you ll meet and he signed us up for our place when he was just a temp and then they signed him on permanently. I can t really complain too much about this place (I ve lived in worse). I would suggest checking their website to check for pricing specials (AMLI.com). And FYI for anyone looking at getting a one bedroom in the Northstar plan; if you get one that s in the middle of the building and not on the ends, you don t get a hallway closet and the setup is a little different than the model. You do, however, have a better floor plan in my opinion. There is no sliding door in the living room, so you another wall to put a couch/sofa against and the TV can go against the opposite wall instead of in front of the kitchen. Also, you get two patios (decent size), one in the bedroom and one in the living room/dining room area. Oh and I almost forgot, there are a lot of foreign people living here (I'm not a racist, and I'm actually a minority myself) and our apartment did have a distinct odor like Indian food when we moved in. There are at least 2 or 3 families on our side of the building and you can smell it when they cook. If you read reviews about odor charges being assessed after moving out, I agree with the office on this one. We had to fabreeze and use carpet deoderizing powder for a few weeks to help get rid of the smell. Again, it's not a racist thing, but some people don't like that kind of smell and it's not easy to get out of the walls and carpet as you might think. Update: We received ANOTHER break-in letter from the office, warning us about more apartment break-ins.
