The worst apartment I have ever lived in. It is truly a disgrace, Venterra should not be allowed to be in apartment management because they are insanely incompetent and have no regard for residents. The elevators are constantly broken, gates constantly broken, human urine all throughout the common spaces, cars broken into. They even deactivate your internet to force you into signing up with their optional internet plan and do it all without informing you that they are doing this. Their solution to the thousands of issues? Rent another stupid food truck and call it community engagement. Honest to god the worst apartment complex and management company, itās disgraceful. If any other industry tried this they would be fired for treating customers that way but for some reason apartments can get away with it and continue to charge overpriced apartments with terrible āupdateā jobs.

The garage and elevator in building 3 are always broke. They need a major overhaul. Walking to the top floor got old quickly when carrying groceries or big packages. I have no other issues. Maintenance issues are prompt. The road noise is loud at times but the neighbors are quite and friendly

I enjoy living in Midtown. It is a bit loud but it is very lively. I will appreciate if the stairs and elevators are bit more clean. The apartment layout is great. Ceilings are high and gets lots of sunlight in.

I have enjoyed living here for the past several months. I love the layout of my apartment unit because it feels like the space is used well to feel bigger than it is. I also enjoy the location and convenience of how close I am to so much.

Gate maintenance and homeless people control needs to be improved. The garage and dog park also needs to be maintained better. Other than that itās a good place to live. Itās pretty quiet, the grounds team is good and residents are nice.

Please ask Bettie to explain the numerous issues with Building 3 residents. There have been flyers put up by resident and meetings held in order to have the office address our issues. A list of complaints has been sent by many residents of Building 3, including myself. I would love to have those requests addressed.

Best Apartments in Houston
Calais Midtown has been the best apartment Iāve stayed at in Houston. The staff is so friendly, if there are ever any problems or if I have any questions they help right away. Jared Cottingham gave me a tour and I leased with him, by far the best tour Iāve ever been on! He told me about all the great amenities and they also have a handy man service which is great for people who have no idea how to mount TVs or shelves! I also have two dogs and they love the bark park. The interior is so nice but also the amenities are great and they always have fun events! Some have been at the pool with free drinks and thereās been watch parties at Pour Behavior with a free drink! The main things I love is the location, all of the staff (Iāve had awful experiences with maintences taking forever at Skyline at Midtown and Melia Medical Center), the interior of my unit and all the amenities like the dog park, the business room (great for studying or doing work since most of my stuff is still remote). I plan on stayed here for a while andā¦Ā See More>11/9/2022

The perfect space
After an enjoyable tour hosted by the staff, the positive impression I was left with is enough for me to consider residing here. Great space at a great price with a wonderful team. I look forward to coming back in the future to purchase.

Best place in midtown!
I love living here, in Calais Midtown! The staff is welcoming and professional! Lillian was more than helpful with the entire process, from initially touring the complex to leasing and moving in! She is so warm and kind... I felt like I was talking to an old friend I'd known for years. Jared always has a big smile on his face! I was so impressed by how secure the entire complex is, the convenient location, great amenities, and low noise levels.

I LOVE Calais Midtown
Calais Midtown is a literal gem located in Midtown. Everything that I need is within walking distance. From groceries (Wholefoods is literally right next door) to restaurants, bars, and hang out spots. The community itself is a very nice community. My favorite spots to be on property is the cocktail Terrace that is situated alongside building 3 and the courtyard in building two that is extremely peaceful. I would love to give Kuddos to the entire leasing staff Jared, Lillian, and Jessica and of course Betty is AMAZING as well!!

Everyone is super nice and friendly. Made me feel part of the community. Any problems I have had so far are always addressed in a timely manner. The only issue I have had is that someone broke into my car the first month of me living here.

Going through the process to move in, the staff was very eager to help with anything needed but once you move in & get settled, not so much. The post owners are the worst, they leave pet urine & feces in the elevator & parking garage. They turn off the water supply at anytime with out notice to the tenants for hours.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! I PROMISE IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!!
WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! I'M URGING YOU TO CONSIDER OTHER OPTIONS! YOUR CAR WILL BE STOLEN, BROKEN INTO, HOMELESS PEOPLE WILL ROAM YOUR HALLS, YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACESS TO AN ELEVATOR SO CARRYING ANYTHING FROM YOUR CAR TO YOUR APARTMENT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AS YOU HAVE TO WALK ALL AROUND THE GARAGE/EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING TO ACCESS YOUR HOME WHEN THE ELEVATOR IS DOWN. I'M TELLING YOU THAT YOU CANNOT GET INSIDE YOUR HOME WITHOUT WALKING THROUGH THE HEAT, RAIN, AND SKETCHY PEOPLE ROAMING AROUND, AND IF YOU FORGET YOUR KEYFOB YOU'RE STUCK! LITERLLY STUCK OUT ON THE SIDEWALK! THEY WILL NOT ADRESS ANY OF YOUR CONCERNS AND WILL NOT UPHOLD ANY PROMISES FOR SAFE AND LIVABLE CONDITIONS. THEY ADVERTISE AS A LUXURY APARTMENT TO GET YOU IN AND HIT YOU WITH LUXTURY RENT PRICES AND THEN THROW YOU IN BUILDING 3 WHERE YOUR WINDOWS DON'T CLOSE PROPERLY, THE STAIRS AND HALLWAYS YOUR FORCED TO USE, BECAUSE THE ELEVATOR IS SO OLD THE PARTS ARE OBSOLETE, ARE HOT AND FILLED WITH HUMAN PEE FROM HOMELESS PEOPLE WHO SLEEP IN THE STARIWELLS. YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR UNIT COOL WITHOUT AT LEAST A $400 ELECTRICITYā¦Ā See More>10/14/2022

Okay. Rent is high for what apartment offers and quality. Some aspects of new rental policy, I donāt agree with. Overall, the experience has been okay. Staff is friendly/pleasant. Proximity to my workplace is a plus.

HIDDEN FEES - DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!
HIDDEN FEES HIDDEN FEES HIDDEN FEES No matter what you do, do NOT live here. If I could leave negative stars, I would. I could write essays on how awful this place was, but I'll give you the spark notes version. -You are charged $3 for every single package you get delivered. -You are charged $30 (might be $35) for putting your trash out before 6pm and/or not picking it up before 9am. -You are charged a couple grand when your lease ends. (In my case, a little over 2 grand...) Charges you can expect to see: Clean move charge $60 (regardless of you hiring cleaners or deep cleaning yourself), paint $107 (also this isn't in the lease anywhere that you can expect this charge. also, most apartments do not charge for paint.), and a bunch of random ones like a new stove (I have pictures that it was in perfect condition so they can go right ahead and try). -Maintenance. They come in at least 10 times a month for random things. One month, they were drilling holes in the ceiling above my tv and that dust got everywhere and inside my expensive tv. They did not clean upā¦Ā See More>10/6/2022

Been here a month. Overall my impression of the community is : great area in regards to accessibility to entertainment etc.. the security leaves a lot to be desired. If not for the double deadbolts, I would not feel very safe due to the homelessness around the area. The community is quiet for the most part (outside of the weekend traffic), which is to be expected. The units are updated but so far, I believe the value against the rent paid could be better when compared to other āluxuryā communities. I would recommend if you are looking for a more affordable luxury option but, if you can afford it, go for a more secure, living experience in the area.

The staff here are awesome and always willing to help. If you unit is facing the highway it can be a little noisy but inside the building is very quiet. When my washer started flooding maintenance came within the hour to fix it and cleaned up the water. Overall I enjoy this apartment.

If you are looking for a welcoming community in the heart of Houston with friendly and helpful staff, Calais Midtown is THE place to be. Calais Midtown is surrounded by many restaurants and grocery stores and is only a few minutes from the train line. The amenities in the building are good and well maintained. The staff at the leasing office made our moving-in experience as smooth as possible and really made us feel at home. Regardless if you are a young person looking for a fun and vibrant neighborhood or a family looking for a family-friendly community, Calais Midtown has it all!

It's great but we've been here for a long time so wished there was something to recognize that (lower rent/lower fees/more personnel interaction). I'm not looking forward to whatever the rent increase is.

I really love Calais! Great people, great staff, great apartment. Everyone is super friendly. I love that I am close to downtown, and close to the HWY 59. The smart home system is AMAZING. Probably one of my favorite parts about my apartment.

The staff is the best staff Iāve ever encountered at any leasing community. Although the entire staff is extremely diligent, Bettie specifically is amazing, and truly cares about the residents. She and her team are timely with communication, attentive to issues that are brought to their attention and are willing to do extra to help out. Every community needs Bettie. Sheās THAT GOOD!

We like the new mural on Smith/Elgin! Whole Foods across the street is easy to get to! The noise from Elgin is dreadful esp between 4-7p.m. The apartments are beautiful, with molding and extra touches and the floor plans are excellent.

I like the area and all the restaurants and bars. the only downside is the noise from the streets and the leaf bar across the street on weekends. The pool and workout areas are clean and well maintained. I wish the windows were better here.
