Overall Calais Midtown is a great community for the price of the apartment. It is really central to a lot of places in midtown so you are able to walk to most of the bars and restaurants of interest in the area. The community is only 5 blocks from the metro stop and only 15 minute drive from the medical center, and about a 5-6 minute commute from downtown. You are never more than 20 minutes from anything of interest which is really convenient. The community is fairly quiet with a tendency towards a young adult group of people. They have a lot of resources for pet owners such as a dog park and dog poo bags on most of the corners of the building which makes it easy to pick up after your dog (even if some don't, but it is cleaned up pretty quickly). The apartments themselves are also really nice and offer a lot of light. The only recommendation is that if you do not want concrete floors, you need to choose an apartment above the first floor since first-floor apartments have concrete.
