Not worth it

I truly believe this complex is not worth the price. I have not had a good experience here. First, when touring the complex I asked about crime. I was told one car had been broken into but that was the only crime that had really happened in a long time. Come to find out after I moved in (from other residents), that cars being broken into has been a serious problem in the complex and that there have also been apartment break-ins recently. Had I known all this, I would not have chosen this place to live. Then I was supposed to be renting a washer/dryer through them. On the DAY OF move-in, I was told there were none available and they didn't know when some would be in. I waited about 2 weeks and still none came in so I ended up buying my own. Then, when we got an animal I paid the pet deposit by check which they lost. Two months later I received a letter threatening a lease violation because of an "unauthorized pet". Just plain incompetence. The gates are almost always broken and the gate remote (which I waited a month to even receive) barely works and is falling apart. The complex has tried to improve security with lighting and more police patrol, but I still feel very unsafe. I am a very unhappy resident. I would gladly pay more for a more secure complex with friendlier, more hlepful and actually competent managers and office staff.
