After living at Brompton for 3 years, I was more than happy to move out this past summer. I was drawn to this complex in 2009 because of how homey and well-maintained the complex and everything about it were. Once Merion Realty bought out Rockwell as the management company, it went downhill...FAST. I was sad to have what I was once so excited to call my home be a constant source of annoyance and malcontent. It was an AMAZING deal for the location, age of the complex, size of my unit, etc. By the time I left, my rent had gone up 30%... AND I was the ONLY person to live there for 3 years. Nothing was improved, no new appliances, fixtures, floors. NOTHING. "Market rates." Anyway, that's not all of it. They really literally do not give a crap. They want your money. If you don't mind throwing money in a hole and having constant issues with what should be your safe-haven and place to relax, live here. If you care, AT ALL, and I'm not finicky, don t waste your money (or time looking if you ve yet to visit). I LOVED my apartment. BUT the complex and the management and staff turned the whole experience to ----. Real quick. Like they say- if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. And if you're checking this because you thought that after visiting the premises, then you're absolutely right. I by no means expect a place to be perfect, but Brompton has turned into a crapshoot. What people say on here is true because it is THAT bad now. Although, I know the people that work there will say only the mad people who have bad experiences write reviews, when I moved into Brompton in 2009, the rating on here was around 54-57%. The majority of people recommended living here. Well, you see what it is now...
Good luck apartment hunting! I know it sucks, but don t settle or throw your money away here!
(Also, if you review other Merion Realty property site pages on here, you will find a similar trend. Things go down, down, down FAST.)
